IIT Guwahati Begins Campus Placements 2023-24, 164 Job Offers Recorded on Day 1

IIT Guwahati's campus placements for the academic year 2023-24 commenced with a flourish, witnessing 164 job offers by 59 companies on the opening day. IITians also secured 214 PPOs in Core Engineering and Finance profiles.

IIT Guwahati Begins Campus Placements 2023-24

New Delhi: The commencement of campus placements at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) for the academic year 2023-24 recorded an impressive start, with 164 job offers from 59 companies on the inaugural day of the placement drive. 

Additionally, the IITians secured a total of 214 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). According to the IIT Guwahati statement, the majority of job offers were in the sectors of Core Engineering and Finance profiles.

As per the placement data, students received eleven placement offers with the highest salary package exceeding INR 1 crore, a significant increase from the seven offers made on the first day of the placement drive in the academic year 2022–23. In comparison, IIT Guwahati garnered 160 offers from 46 companies during the corresponding period last year.

Rajeev Ahuja, Officiating Director of IIT Guwahati expressed satisfaction and said that they are pleased to witness the enthusiastic engagement of numerous recruiters from diverse sectors as they actively recruit the talented pool of IIT Guwahati. 

The students are encouraged to consider opportunities in the core sectors. He also extended congratulations to the students for securing these remarkable opportunities.

Prominent tech giants including Google, Microsoft, Navi, Piramal, Bajaj, HPCL, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments, among others, actively participated in providing attractive packages to students during the initial two sessions of this year.

The institute expects the extension of Phase 1 of IIT Guwahati placements until December 15, 2023. In the academic year 2023–24, a comprehensive 1491 students from various study disciplines have enrolled for placements.

In addition, Phase 1 has recorded interest from 262 companies set to hire for a total of 422 profiles, alongside the participation of seven public sector undertakings (PSUs). Notably, more than 50 startups have also enlisted for recruitment activities in the current academic year.

Lalit Mohan Pandey, Career Development Head at IIT Guwahati, said that the institute stands resilient against the global recession, maintaining a consistent record in placement statistics.

He further added that this process contributes to fostering a comprehensive understanding on the part of both potential employees and employers.
