IGNOU Launches BSc in Food Safety and Quality Management Program for July 2024 Session; Apply Here

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a first-of-its-kind BSc in Food Safety and Quality Management (BSCFFSQM) program, starting from the July 2024 Session. The course will be offered by the School of Agriculture at IGNOU.

As per IGNOU, the program aims to teach students about food safety and quality management and train them in food science, safety, and processing. It is offered as a three-year program under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) scheme of NEP 2020. However, students can complete the program within eight years if needed.

What are the Key Highlights of IGNOU BSc Food Safety and Quality Management Program?

IGNOU’s School of Agriculture has launched this degree program in food safety in offline mode. It is not available through conventional or online education methods. Starting in July 2024, the BSc Food Safety and Quality Management program will be offered in January and July 2024 sessions.

The program's curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs of stakeholders in the food processing and food safety industries. Students can enrol in the program if they have completed 10+2 with Science or Agriculture subjects or have an equivalent qualification.
