IGNOU to Offer Diploma in Fashion Design and Retail Course; Apply till June 30

New Delhi: IGNOU’s School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET) has launched a new Diploma in Fashion Design and Retail Course. The course will be conducted by IGNOU in a distance learning format for a duration of 1 year. Interested candidates can apply for the course through the official website till June 30, 2024. 

As per a press release issued by the institution, the program seeks to develop fashion retail professionals specialised in areas such as retail buying and merchandising, store operations, supply chain management and visual merchandising, advertising, garment construction sale and marketing, and more.

The DFDR Course is aimed at providing a detailed understanding of fashion and the fashion industry. The programme will further develop detailed knowledge, concepts, history, and skills for fashion design professionals, retail buyers and merchandisers, visual merchandisers, and more. The total fee for the course is INR 10,000 which includes the application fee aswell as the course fee. 

Who is Eligible for IGNOU DFDR Course?

To be eligible to apply for IGNOU DFDR Course, you must have passed your 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognised board. Pass-out students of the CFDE programme from IGNOU or equivalent courses from government-recognised institutions are also eligible to apply for the course.

• Develop specialized knowledge and understanding of fashion design and fashion retail management
• Acquaint students with the knowledge and understanding of Fashion Industry and marketing
• Explore the various aspects of retail management and visual merchandising
• Develop knowledge of IT applications in fashion retailing and explore the aspects of fashion marketing and retail management.

Step 1: Visit the official website of IGNOU at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Step 2: From the homepage, click on the latest IGNOU Admission 2024 link available. 

Step 3: Register yourself after filling in the required details, such as Mobile Number, Email Id, etc.

Step 4: Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all required details in the Application form.

Step 5: Pay the application fee and submit the IGNOU Admission 2024 form. 

Step 6: Applicants must also take a printout of the application form for all future needs.
