As a first, these courses will be introduced on the university campus. All the programmes will be run under the Centre of Excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences (CEPS).
New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has received approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for its newly launched pharmacy courses. The courses will begin from the academic session 2024-25.
The IPU new courses include D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Phytopharmacy and Phytomedicine and Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a seat intake of 220 seats overall.
According to Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of GGSIPU, the D.Pharm has an intake of 60 seats, B.Pharm will admit 100 students and M.Pharm in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, phytopharmacy and phytomedicine and pharmaceutical chemistry has 15 seats each. In all, these courses have an intake of 220 seats.
The teaching pedagogy, hands on experience on the latest equipment, industry-friendly approach will be the unique feature at CEPS, the VC added. As a first, these courses will be introduced on the university campus. All the programmes will be run under the Centre of Excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences (CEPS).
Who is Eligible for the GGSIPU Pharmacy Courses?
Candidates who have completed their Class 12 from any recognised board are eligible to apply for the courses. The DPharm admissions will be based on the merit list of Class 12.
For the BPharm course, preference will be given to the IPU-CET applicants and then the remaining seats (if any) may be filled in with those who have cleared NEET.
The MPharm seats will be first filled in with those who have qualified the GPAT and then through the CET applicants.
