CU Kashmir, which began with three postgraduate courses on satellite campuses in 2009, now offers more than 45 programmes. Because no other North Indian university offered such a programme at the time, the university was unique in introducing a five-year integrated science curriculum.

Other major colleges across the country have praised and reacted to this concept. "We pioneered the notion of integrated courses, and colleges all around the country have embraced it."

Some of the new courses provided at the institution are integrated BSc / MSc Physics, Zoology, Biotechnology, and Mathematics under this type of strategy.

The institution has created a diploma programme in Kashmiri and Urdu journalism, emphasizing its commitment to the mother tongue. In addition to this some vocational training has also begun in the institution. The University has set particular goals in line with the Government of India's new initiatives, and it is working hard in the spirit of the University Brotherhood.

According to Professor Mohamed Afzal Zargar, Registrar of , the overall enrolment percentage of universities should be enhanced to meet the GoI's aim of 50% under the new Education Policy 2020.

It has been 15 years. It is now at 27%, and we are exploring several strategies to raise it. For students to gain new skills and contribute to society, we run creative, creative, and skill centers.

Given the current state of unemployment and the demand for training, the institution is concentrating on providing students with a skills-based education. "Students must find a way to support themselves after graduation," he stated.

Tourism & Hospitality Management and Retail Logistics Management are the two professional degrees now available. "These and comparable courses provide a wealth of chances for our students, and even other cultural disciplines have skills components," he said.

The Design and Innovation Center, founded by the MHRD National Design Initiative in 2018, is one of the university's projects. Ten diploma courses have been given in 15 Kashmir colleges as part of the scheme.

Among the courses offered are the Diploma in Cath Band and Woodworking, the Diploma in Design and Dressing, and the Ladaki Craft Diploma. More research initiatives have been completed in addition to these eleven.

"Hardcore skill programmes will be taught as part of this endeavour. Students will be taught entrepreneurship skills, which are crucial in today's world," he stated.

Professor Afzal, emphasizing the importance of practical education, stated that internships and exercises are now required of all students in all subjects. "Practical training instill confidence in students." You'll acquire experience working with experts and the business world.

In order for the institution to be industry-ready, professionals from the industry have been appointed to help shape the curriculum. For our students, we aim to think outside the box.

When it comes to the academic schedule, he says the university follows it to the letter. "Despite difficult conditions, we follow the academic calendar and award degrees on time, and this is one of the United States' emerging universities," he stated.

Our university has never been late, despite crises in 2014, 2016, and 2019, or during the Covenant. This is our USP: we don't stop working even if the place is broken. In addition, to be eligible for the exam, 75 percent of the students must be present in the classroom, and the majority of them are eager to learn.

Professor Shah stated that keeping an academic schedule is one of the university's top responsibilities. "We disagree with the academics, but things are going well despite the constraints." Our teaching method is effective.

Teachers do not squander any time. We have a team, but it is performing the identical tasks as its counterparts in other UT of J&K higher education institutions.

Professor Afzal's study on instructors and students has been published in prominent journals, according to the research programmes. "We've begun to concentrate on research and have built significant laboratory infrastructure." For Kashmir and the people of the country, we wish to be a self-help research center.

At all levels of India, admission to the university is done through the Common Entrance Examination. The Central University Common Entrance Examination (CUCET) will administer this year's admission ban, which will be followed by government booking restrictions throughout the admissions process.

There is a special function for Ganderbal District students who have been allocated a big number of seats at CU Kashmir to return to the region where the university runs for the benefit of the residents.

A considerable number of unique student seats are also available where there is no preparation. The university is working on establishing a Student Aid Fund to assist students who are unable to pay their fees.

"Financial aid is provided to our students through the Government of India and the YouTube Program," Professor Afzal says. It used to be delayed in some circumstances, but things have now been addressed thanks to ICT intervention, and the transfer of direct benefits has solved all of the issues.

To provide their talents a platform, the students participate in a variety of activities and festivals. It is one of the Tech Festivals organized by the Department of Information Technology. Officials claim that the festival was organized by students for students.

"The students were well-organized, which was a plus." Why are pupils confined to their classrooms only when they have suggestions for improving society? More festivals will be held in other departments in the future, according to Professor Afzale.

According to officials, the institute's closure has resulted in the facility's closure, which has resulted in the facility's closure. Dean student safety will be addressed by psychologists and psychotherapists.

Several online events are arranged to assist students during the covide. Teachers took an active role in advising the students throughout the counseling sessions. "The students began to debate issues related to education and other issues with their lecturers," Professor Afzal says.

To make the most of their time and energy, we began attending events and seminars. The students came up with some innovative suggestions. Leadership traits and communication were among the skills targeted for improvement. Students can learn about the different elements of a subject by attending these events.

Professor Shah said that due to several compelling reasons, campus development delays occur due to a lack of infrastructure, and students have to deal with a lot of tooth decay difficulties. The university is not completely operational on the Tulmulla campus due to technical challenges. The soil on which the university is being built is of poor quality.

Transportation is another issue for students. "Transportation is extended to various routes. We've bought more buses and are planning to expand our facilities, which will be operational in March.

The National Audit and Accreditation Council has granted the university accreditation (NAAC). Professor Shah explained, "We're collaborating at different universities." It's difficult to offer adequate amenities on all campuses. It's something for which we don't have a permanent location. There are certain flaws, but we're doing our best."
