CBSE 10th, 12th Results 2024 Delayed for 102 Students Due to Fake Certificates; Board Issues Show Cause Notice

With the class 10 and 12 students submitting fake certificates to appear in the CBSE Board exams, the CBSE has issued a show cause notice to them and also kept the results of 49 class 10 and 53 class 12 female and CWSN private category candidates.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show cause notices to Class 10 and 12 students in Delhi for submitting fake certificates to appear in the CBSE board exams 2024. 

As a result, the CBSE has placed the results of 49 Class 10 and 53 Class 12 female and CWSN private category candidates in the "result later" category (RL). Recently, the CBSE announced the Class 10 and 12 results 2024, on May 13, 2024. 

The CBSE board has asked these students to submit their responses along with all supporting documents to the regional office by May 21, 2024, also warning that their candidature will be cancelled and further action will be taken if they fail to submit the required replies.

According to the official CBSE notice, the candidates are directed to show cause or else their candidature will be cancelled and action will be initiated against them as per rules for submitting fake certificates. 

All candidates are directed to submit their reply in the concerned Regional Office with all supporting documents within 07 days from the date of the notice i.e. by May 21, 2024, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. The Board shall not be liable for any loss/damage caused to such candidates. 

CBSE Board Exams Eligibility

The CBSE has clarified that to be eligible for the board exams, candidates must submit a domicile certificate proving their residency in Delhi when submitting the exam form.

The board verified the domicile certificates submitted by these candidates to ensure their authenticity. However, the authorities responsible for issuing these certificates informed CBSE that they had not issued the certificates submitted by these students.

As a result, the results for these candidates were not announced on May 13, 2024, and have been placed under the Result Later (RL) category according to Rule 60 of the CBSE examination bye-laws, the CBSE stated.

In a separate notice, the CBSE has announced that the results for 139 Class 10 and 12 candidates from Delhi have been placed in the sub-judice category, pending the outcome of court decisions.
