CBSE: Class 10 Exams Expected Twice a Year; Global Curriculum to be Introduced

Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE is going to conduct class 10 exams twice a year beginning in 2026. The exams will be conducted twice a year in order to reduce the stress of class 10 CBSE candidates and improve their scores. CBSE has also issued a notice regarding the release of a global curriculum for its affiliated schools located abroad.

CBSE will introduce the global curriculum to meet the international education standards and prepare students for global opportunities.

CBSE Class 10 Exams Twice a Year

The CBSE's decision to conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year is part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020's vision to make assessments more flexible and student-friendly. Under the new system, students will have the opportunity to take the exams in two cycles—once at the end of the first academic term and again at the end of the second term. The best of the two scores will be considered for the final result.

The twice-a-year exam format is expected to encourage continuous learning and reduce the reliance on rote memorization. Educators have welcomed the decision, stating that it will foster a more holistic approach to education.

Introduction of a Global Curriculum
