CBSE Board Exams 2025 ends for February 15, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. For Class 10, candidates appeared for English and Class 12 for Entrepreneurship.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has concluded the CBSE Board Exams 2025 Day 1 for Classes 10 and 12 on February 15, 2025. The exams was conducted from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. Class 10 board exams began with the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) paper tomorrow. The Class 12 exams was for the Entrepreneurship paper on the first day. This year, the CBSE expects around 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad to appear for the Class 10 and 12 board exams.

The Class 10th exam will last till March 18, 2025, while the CBSE 12th exams 2025 will conclude on April 4, 2025. As per the NEP 2020 guidelines, the board has increased the competency-based questions by 50% this year and 20% MCQ-based questions will be asked in the exam. The theory paper for the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025 will have 80 marks questions and for internal assessments, 20 marks are allotted. Students will have to obtain a minimum of 33% marks to qualify for the exam.
CBSE 2025 Paper Analysis
Based on the student’s feedback, CBSE Class 10 English paper was comparatively easier. The paper was well structured, following a competency-based pattern. Comprehension and Grammer section was simple and straighforward. Faculty reported that the CBSE Class 12 Entrepreneurship paper was moderate and followed the CBSE sample paper.

CBSE Passing Marks 2025
You should score at least 33% in each subject to pass the CBSE Class 10th and 12th exams. Check the passing marks criteria for 2025 given below.

You need to follow the guidelines for CBSE Exam day:
- Permitted Items:
Students have to take only specific items to the examination center:
- For all students:
- Admit card.
- School identity card (for regular students) or any government-issued photo identity proof (for private candidates).
- Stationery in a transparent pouch (geometry box, blue/royal blue pens, erasers, etc.).
- Analogue watch, transparent water bottle, metro card, bus pass, and money.
- For all students:
- Barred Items:
Certain items are strictly prohibited and will be treated as a violation if found:
- Electronic devices: Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators (except for students with dyscalculia), etc.
- Personal belongings: Wallets, handbags, pouches, and eatables (except for diabetic students).
- Any textual material or copying aids, including printed or handwritten notes.
- Dress Code:
- Regular students: Mandatory school uniform.
- Private candidates: Light, plain clothes.
- Physical Frisking:
Students will undergo mandatory physical frisking before entering the examination hall.
Key Recommendations for Students
- Familiarize yourself with the rules and avoid carrying barred items to the exam center.
- Ensure dress code compliance to get into the exam hall easily.
- Follow all instructions issued by invigilators to avoid any actions categorized as UFM.
Unfair Means Categories and Penalties
CBSE has categorized violations into five levels, depending on the severity of the offense:
- Category 1: Minor infractions like carrying previous years' question papers or writing on unauthorized material will result in cancellation of the exam in the respective subject. Students may take the compartment exam if otherwise eligible.
- Category 2: Offenses such as altering admit card photos or using copying material will lead to the cancellation of all current exams. The student must reappear in all subjects next year.
- Category 3: Serious offenses like smuggling question papers or using electronic devices will result in cancellation of current and next year’s exams in all subjects.
- Category 4: Grave violations like impersonation or sharing examination material on social media will result in a three-year ban from exams, with reappearance permitted only after the period.
- Category 5: Using obscene or threatening language in answer sheets will lead to counseling and forfeiture of any attached items like currency notes

As per NEP 2020, CBSE will increase the number of competency-based questions in class 10 exams. However, there will be no open book examination in CBSE class 10th and 12th.
The passing criteria for CBSE Class 10 Exam involve securing a minimum passing grade in each subject set at 33% of the maximum marks for every subject.
CBSE Class 12 Entrepreneurship paper was moderate and based on the CBSE sample paper. There were some simple, easy to answer questions and some tricky questions.
Students reported that the CBSE class 10 English paper was ‘easier than expected’. The Grammar and Comprehension sections has direct questions. Candidates who were well prepared, found the paper easy to answer.
For CBSE Class 12 Exams candidates need to obtain at least 33% marks in each subject to pass the exam. Practical exam has a 20% weightage.
Based on the initial feedback, the CBSE Class 10 exam was reported to be easy. It followed the revised exam pattern. CBSE Class 12 exam 2025 was moderately difficult.
CBSE class 10th and 12th 2025 exam comes to an end at 1.30 PM. Candidates will provide the paper analysis soon.
CBSE class 10th and 12th admit card is out on the official website of Pariksha Sangam Portal. Schools can log on to the official website of CBSE at cbse.gov.in to download the admit card. CBSE board exam 2025 admit cards are available only through the school login and students will not be able to download the admit cards for the examination directly by themselves.
Each exam on the CBSE board will be conducted for three hours in a single shift. CBSE 2025 board exam timings are from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

CBSE board exam starts for Class 10 and Class 12 at 10.30 AM. The shift ends at 1.30 PM.
CBSE allows candidates 15 minutes reading time before they start writing. The CBSE question paper is distributed by 10.15 AM.
The entry to the CBSE Board Exam 2025 exam center ends at 10 AM. No candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall after the time.

Accvording to reports, approximately 42 lakh students are expected to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE board exams. It will be conducted in 7842 exam centers across India and 26 contries abroad.
