D.K Ghosh has been working as the Chairman of Worldwide Management Studies, Kolkata, West Bengal. He has done a 3-years Diploma in Hotel Management from SBIHM of Kolkata and Post Graduation in Hotel Management as part of his education. He started his professional journey with the Indian Shipping Industry, worked there for 1 year and also pursued a Diploma in Shipping and Marine Catering to enhance his knowledge. And in 2011, he started his own business of Consultancy Firm with the name Bon Voyage Global in Kolkata. He has a rich 8 years of experience in the Shipping Industry.

Being the Chairman of Worldwide Management Studies, what is your philosophy of leadership? 

As a Chairman of the institution, my philosophy of leadership centers around several key principles and values that I believe are crucial for effective team management and delivery of the finest quality education to the young generation. 

I also believe in setting a clear and inspiring vision for the institution, a vision that is focused on academic excellence, innovation, and a commitment to the development and success of students and faculty members. In addition to this, I regularly collaborate with faculty members, staff and stakeholders of our college to take their valuable inputs and feedback so that I can manage finances properly, plan things strategically and build long-lasting relations with alumni and corporate partners.


How is your institution more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds? 

Our college has implemented a multi-faceted approach to create a more welcoming environment for students of different races and economic backgrounds. Firstly, we actively promote diversity and inclusion through targeted recruitment efforts to attract a more diverse body of students and teachers. Scholarships and financial aid are provided to the underprivileged and academically bright students to ensure everyone has access to education.

Apart from this, cultural competency training is provided to staff members and faculty on a regular basis to foster understanding and respect in them for different cultures and perspectives. Last but not the least, we offer counseling and support services to students and have also incorporated diverse perspectives and experiences in the curriculum.


What are your roles and responsibilities towards the institute and students ?

As the Chairman of Worldwide Management Studies, my roles and responsibilities are multifaceted, with a primary focus on serving both the college and its students. First and foremost, I am responsible for providing visionary leadership, setting strategic goals, and ensuring the overall well-being of the institution. 

Additionally, fostering an environment of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement by making informed decisions about faculty recruitment and development, resource allocation, and curriculum enhancement comes under the scope of my work. 

Last but not the least, I am responsible for prioritizing students' educational experiences, supporting their growth and success by overseeing the quality of education, facilitating them access to quality learning resources, promoting a culture of ethical conduct and respect and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive campus culture where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive.

What do you think should be the institution’s top priority over the next 10 years?

I strongly believe that adapting and thriving in an ever-changing educational landscape while maintaining a strong commitment to the core mission of providing quality education to youths should be our goal in upcoming years. 

Apart from this, we should embrace innovation in teaching-learning methods, promote diversity and inclusion in all our policies and procedures so that the institution is accessible and welcoming to students and focus on integration of technologies in curriculum wherever possible to meet the evolving needs of students. 

Last but not the least, we should adopt environmentally and financially sustainable approaches, with a focus on effective resource management and long-term stability and give priority to building strong relationships with industry partners and alumni that can enhance opportunities for research, experiential learning, and career placement and benefit both the college and its students. 


What makes your college unique and different from others?

Our institute is not just a place of learning but a vibrant community dedicated to personal and intellectual growth and we as an educational institution are committed to promote diversity and inclusion in all work we do so that every student, regardless of their background, feels valued and supported here. 

Also, our faculty members not just teach and train students but act as their mentors and guides whenever students need their support to fix an academic or non-academic issue.

And beyond academics, numerous extracurricular activities are organized by us on a regular basis to supplement the learning and give students necessary opportunities and platforms to showcase their unique talents and skills. In addition to this, our college invests heavily in research and innovation, keeping in mind the advancement of knowledge and betterment of society. In other terms, we continually strive to adapt to the changing world by providing a forward-looking education that equips students with the skills and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and make a positive impact on the world.


What do you see as Worldwide Management Studies's greatest strengths?

Our unwavering commitment to achieve academic excellence and innovative teaching methods we have adopted to deliver high-quality education to students as per changing business landscape, makes us strong.

Apart from this, we have a strong, diverse and accomplished team of faculty members who have a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience, and our focus remains on providing a global perspective along with international business and cultural understanding to our ambitious students so that they can thrive in the global market. We are also dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive community that helps students from diverse backgrounds thrive. Hence I would say that all these factors are the major pillars of our strength and resilience.


Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

It's a well known fact that learning is a lifelong process, hence I would advise my dear students and aspiring youths to stay curious and open-minded and actively seek opportunities that can expand their knowledge and skills. Also, define practically achievable short and long term life goals for yourself, because a clear objective will keep you motivated and focused towards them.

Apart from this, give your 100% in whatever work you do, stay ethically strong and disciplined and maintain a meaningful relationship with your peers, mentors and industry professionals belonging to your field of interest, as this way only you will get the best guidance and opportunities for a bright future.

Last but not the least, collaborate with knowledgeable people as much as you can and try to learn from their experiences and don't forget that failure is a part of life and not life itself, so see them as a new window to learn and innovate. Also, make yourself adaptable to changing circumstances and remember that your journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all formula for success, hence stay true to your passions and values, and keep pushing forward with determination and a growth mindset.
