Dr. Charu Bansal is a Business Finance Specialist and Coach with a rich Banking and Academic experience of 17 plus years. Her banking expertise is in segments including Trade Finance Operations, International Marketing Management, cross-border trade, Branch Administration, Risk Profiling, Client Relationship Management, Forex and Treasury, Credit Appraisals, and Retail Banking. She has been teaching courses like Corporate Finance, Banking and Risk Management, Financial Markets and Services, Investment Management, Wealth Management, and Simulation and has been instrumental in developing some key finance courses. She is the Area Chair of Finance and Dean of the MBA Program. You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

I joined the education sector about five years ago after gaining 15 years of industry experience across the financial service sector. The education sector always enchanted me as a way of giving back to the younger generation and contributing your share in grooming the youth.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

Leadership is about collaboration and inspiring others to do their best work. I am best suited to make decisions and lead the team members by delegating tasks, leading by example, and making sure they know I care. Leaders should create a positive work culture and promote inclusivity and trust in each other to work as a team.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

IILM University is known to take the initiative and cultivate an environment of multidisciplinary learning and innovation by delving into state-of-the-art trend technologies and pedagogies. IILM has recently pioneered a Drone Management Training Program and Psychometric testing for the entire batch to train well for placements.

Any suggestions/messages that you would like to give to the current youth?

The youth of today has a marvelous potential and knowledge to excel. As mentors, we need to train them to harness this potential in the right direction. My advice to the youth is to Aim high, Never lose focus of your dreams, and exercise your freedom wisely. Expose yourself regularly to diverse surroundings to expand your horizons, this will make you agile and resilient for future challenges and opportunities.
