Hey!! I am Arpit Chauhan, 22 year old graduate in BBA with a work experience of eight months as a Marketing executive in a Ed-tech Brand . In my graduation I learned about various domains of commerce and at my final year I got an placement in a marketing role . During my work tenure I realised that to gain exponential growth in my career trajectory , I needed an MBA so as a result I planned to pursue. Now the biggest dilemma came from which College to Choose. But this choice has a very obvious and direct relation with your MBA entrance exam score , your graduation and schooling score , your category and communication skills.

Why MBA from NIBM Pune?

After a very complicated journey of finalising the college for my MBA , I landed in NIBM-Pune . I also attended classes in Goa Institute of Management for about 1 month and later when I converted NIBM from the waiting list , I decided to join the program at NIBM in the banking and finance branch. 

USP of NIBM Pune?

If I have to talk about the USP of NIBM over similar categories of other B schools then it would first and foremost be the brand image of the college in Banking and finance Industry . As NIBM itself is a very old college with a legacy of more than 50 years and is established by RBI , NIBM is the only educational institute which was established by RBI.

Second thing would be ROI as NIBM has comparative low fee structure and has decent average placement of 15.23 Lakhs as per 2023 placement report and being in NIBM I can say that it's not inflated by a single rupee because the report has been audited at multiple phases.

Third USP of the college would be its Professors , they are seasoned bankers who closely work with the Indian Government and their research work has a direct impact in decision making of the Indian financial sector . All these things made NIBM for me the best choice out of all the options which were available to me in terms of colleges.

NIBM Pune Hostel

If I have to talk about Hostel life at NIBM , my experience was mixed. Here in NIBM we don’t have general hostels , here students are allotted flats mainly 2 BHK which are inside the campus only , Although mess for all hostels is common . As NIBM is more than 50 years old so infrastructure is not that great as it is in many other private B schools but at the same time Hostel are equipped with all the necessary amenities and in total you will get the feel of a vintage home living experience here.

In campus indoor badminton court, volleyball court, half football court, lawn tennis court, basketball court all these things are there so campus would be very happening if you are a sports lover. In Pune the weather is soothing so Air condition is not there in Hostels although classes have the AC, also NIBM has a largest library which is dedicated to finance and banking sector so we all will enjoy the perks of easily available study material. In Hostel rooms generally 2 students share a room and when it comes to accommodation space is comfortable enough in sharing.

Mess meals are manageable as very great cuisine is not served to students but still the food is manageable. Here in campus generally classes are there from morning 8:30 to 1:40 in afternoon after that free time is available for the student if no other sessions are scheduled by seniors or any other committee or any guest lecture by the admin department.

 If there is leisure time then generally student go in library for studies or play sports and one more fact about NIBM is that we have a lot of exams weather it would be mid sem /end sem/class test / case studies presentations and all these things have a weightage in your CGPA calculation so you can't afford to take any of these casually , so free time in NIBM is almost a hypothetical concept.

As a common area of campus , we have MPH – multi purpose hall , where some of the indoor sporting facilities , indoor sports like carrom , chess are there , committee meetings also take place in MPH only so overall getting a spot in MPH would may be a challenging task in NIBM. 

Seniors in NIBM are very supportive and helping in nature , ragging and all is not at all there in campus , you can contact any senior at any time as per your bond with them , seniors are supporting in every aspect like teaching , previous year papers , feedbacks about professors , college environment and all these related areas . 

When it comes to placement as NIBM has a batch size of 132 students only and ample number of companies visit the campus so getting placed in NIBM is not a challenge in NIBM, here the statistics about highest package is available on college website and lowest package is also not very below the average the quoted figure in the placement report of NIBM.

Overall placement process is fair and the placement committee does play an important role in getting all the students placed, however our dean and placement officer has a very tight supervision on all the activities of the placement committee working, so chances of discrepancy are close to zero in all the placement process of the NIBM.

Although the placement week is very hectic in nature but at the end when all the students got the opportunity then at the end we all felt that the struggle was worth it. Talking about the dream company here in NIBM it is HDFC or YES bank as these two companies offer a core financial role in risk department and their remuneration is also highest in the campus among other companies although there are other companies which offer a core tech fintech roles but again the dream job depends on the interest of the student. As all campuses have a 100 percent placement record so all the students get placement easily in the campus.
