LNCT University celebrates World Tiger Day, an initiative to save tiger’s extinction

Bhopal, August 1, 2018: LNCT University is one of the top recognized private universities in India. It recently celebrated the World Tiger Day. The World Tiger Day (also known as International Tiger Day) is celebrated every year on July 29 since 2010 to raise awareness for tiger conservation. The goal of observance of the day is to promote the protection and expansion of the wild tiger's habitats and to gain support through awareness for tiger conservation with an aim to double the big cat population by 2022.

In Bhopal, students of LNCT University organized World Tiger Day to protect the tiger and save other extinct species. During this day, the students made Artwork representing that only 3200 tigers are left in the world. Their existence is constantly under threat and this species is in a state of extinction. This alarming situation for the Tigers’ world and their existence requires the attention of the world to work together for the cause. The students took an initiative and did their best to bring the world’s attention towards the cause and inspiring other people to do their bit in the common responsibility.

Students at the LNCT University made a figure of tiger through natural arts. At the same time, students informed about their artwork and said that many countries are campaigning for the protection of tigers still, environmentalists believe that if there is such a drop in their number then by the year 2022 the Tigers will extinct. The students made a lot of efforts in researching about Tigers and then creating artwork to bring people’s attention towards saving the Tigers from extinction.

On the occasion of celebrating the World Tiger Day, LNCT University’s Director Mr. Anupam Chouksey said “On 29th July, this day was first celebrated in 2010 and was founded at an international summit that had been called in response to the shocking news that 97% of all wild tigers had disappeared in the last century, with only around 3,000 left alive. Tigers are on the brink of extinction and World Tiger Day aims to bring attention to this fact and try to halt their decline. Many factors have caused their numbers to fall, including habitat loss, climate change, hunting and poaching and Tiger Day aims to protect and expand their habitats and raise awareness of the need for conservation.”
