You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

My passions include study and teaching. Ever since completing my post-graduation, I have been involved in the field of education. In addition to teaching kids, my job as an educator requires me to stay up to date on trends and acquire new skills. Real-time case studies, live projects, hands-on experience, generating innovative ideas, confining with examples and other prototypes if possible. Research, hybrid learning, entrepreneurship, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain courses that we have been offering to our students and other pedagogical practices we offer to our students inspire me to keep teaching.

Being the HOD of West Godavari Institute of Sciences and Engineering what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

In today's competitive world, effective project management and meeting deadlines are crucial for success. With the ever-increasing complexity of campaigns, dividing a team into specialised groups can not only expedite the work process but also ensure a high level of expertise and efficiency in each aspect of the campaign. My approach to leadership is focused on openness and communication because I think these qualities foster a productive, diverse workplace, build trust, and facilitate productive teamwork, all of which contribute to the team's success. I want to build a high-performing team that succeeds as a whole by assigning work to the appropriate people and assisting them when they need it. I also lead by showing transparency, fairness, integrity, honesty, and accountability with my department staff members in my actions and decisions, and I treat everyone with respect and dignity.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

India has a long history of invention and research, which is why many students opt to study there. The teaching methods used in colleges are designed to support students’ growth in logical and analytical thinking. Most engineering colleges regularly organise alumni gatherings, subject matter expert conferences, and visits from corporate executives. The cost-effectiveness of Indian higher education is widely recognised, which is an added advantage to its excellent calibre. Our college uses modern technology to improve instruction in addition to traditional classroom techniques. The higher education system in India encompasses 360-degree learning, which includes both classroom instruction and extracurricular activities, including student-organized city and heritage walks, inter-college tournaments, and annual festivals. In the end, it facilitates both academic and personal development.

As far as students are concerned, a change in mindset is the required skill. They have to quickly adapt, reskill and upskill themselves to be able to face the industry’s challenges. Given the current trends, students must learn fast to adapt to the changes imposed on us, like COVID or any future events.
