Dr. Farha Anjum is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication department at the Siddhartha Institute of Engineering and Technology in Ibrahimpatnam. She has around 12 years of experience in both teaching and in the industry. She did her B.Tech in ECE, M.Tech in VLSISD, and another M.Tech in IT. Moreover, she holds an MBA in Project Management and a PhD in VLSI. Dr. Anjum has published 30 international papers and guided many M.Tech and B.Tech students. She is a member of LMISTE and IETE. She authored a book titled “Concepts of VLSI Design,” published by the DK International Research Foundation and is a certified Oracle Associate. She secured the top position in A.P. in the entrance exam conducted by IEG and has received the Award for Best Teaching Methodology (2017) for her significant contribution to the field of teaching from the RAMPROS Education Research Centre.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

My most proud moment in my career so far is that I have guided and helped thousands of students. Under my guidance, students have gone on to have sustainable and successful careers. I have helped my students join Ace Academy, which imparts technical skills to the students, through which they are in NIT and other good organisations. My students are also enrolled in well-ranked universities and institutes for higher education.

What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

My strategy to build a team is to be supportive of everyone. I believe in encouraging all members to update themselves on their knowledge and skills from time to time. All of us provide moral support and proper guidance to our students as and when necessary. I also make sure to assign work to my team members based on their expertise and experience.

What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far?

The most challenging task so far in my career is getting an A+ grade in NAAC for our institute. We also work quite hard to gain autonomous status for our college. Through these challenges, I have learned time management, teamwork, and how to work under pressure. I learned leadership and management skills, which in turn helped in my role as HOD.

What do you find most difficult about being the head of department?

Being the Head of the Department is tough and demanding but it is not hard. I always believe in proper planning and time management. I also believe that having a team that can work collaboratively makes it easier to achieve goals. My team of faculty members and other staff members have helped me immensely in the discharge of my work responsibilities.

My vision for the Siddhartha Institute of Engineering and Technology is to be a top top-ranking university. My goal is to provide quality education and good career opportunities to students. Moreover, my goal is to have students be eligible for the best jobs, higher education or start their own entrepreneurial practises.
