Being a Faculty of Physics Department, what are your responsibilities toward the students?

As the Faculty of Physics Department, I need to teach my students during lectures and have to assist them during lab time as well. I am also the class co-coordinator for first year engineering students and journal coordinator in the research cell of our institute, so I need to take care of a few tasks there as well.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

To have a cordial relationship with my students, I keep sharing new innovative ideas with them and keep motivating them to learn new things. And we also interact between lectures to understand each other's point of view on a particular topic. I also treat each student equally in terms of knowledge sharing and growth opportunities.

How do you bring in a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

To enforce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects, we provide software training to students based on their domain which helps them in completing their mini and final projects. In addition to this, hands-on training is also provided to them to help them learn new skills. Lastly, we encourage them to take up some additional courses apart from curriculum to add some extra knowledge.

Which best practices are offered by your department to students to help them gain necessary skills?

Spoken English classes, aptitude classes and tests, and various types of value added courses are provided by us to help our students develop additional skills. Aptitude sessions, regular tests and communication classes are regularly conducted by us.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education?

For the purpose of preparing our students for higher education, we regularly keep updating them about the different courses, their application process and the preparation part. Special English classes are also conducted for them to enhance their communication skills and overall personality. We provide our full support and guidance to students for this thing.

How do you prepare your students to cope up with this competitive world?

We keep motivating our students to take part in different kinds of competitions in order to utilize their skills, learn new one and to gain confidence to face this world with more courage and strength. In addition to this, we give full support to students for the preparation of competitive exams.

Which challenges are you facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

We are not facing any issues currently and everything is going as expected. As of now we are not facing any roadblocks to enhance the education quality of our department as all our faculty are highly qualified, extensively experienced and totally supportive towards students.

How does your college enhance the faculty skills and prepare them as per industry standards?

Their skills are upgraded through FDPs, guest sessions and by providing them best research facilities. Our college trains the faculty members by organizing Faculty Development Programs to help them upskill their subject knowledge and skills. And they keep researching over different topics which helps them to stay updated with the latest industrial and educational world trends and developments. Lastly, guest lectures are conducted for them where industry persons are invited to share their inputs on particular topics.

What are the greatest strengths of your college?

The greatest strength of our college is the disciplined behaviour of our students in the college campus because it gives a peaceful environment not only to them but to others as well. Also they are our main asset as we are nothing without them.

I would like to advise my students to become flexible and adaptable as per the current scenarios of this challenging world. Keep enhancing your skills, strengthen your subject knowledge and set realistic goals for yourself because then it will be easier for you to achieve them.
