Assam CM Declared that there will not be any class 10 board exam from the academic session 2024-25
New Delhi: Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, has made another significant statement by announcing that the Assam HSLC exams will not be held starting in 2019.
According to the official declaration, there won't be a board test for Assam students in Class 10 starting in the 2024 academic year. A single new educational board will be established in Assam by the state government.
In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the state education department made the choice. The Assam HSLC Exams won't be held starting in the next year.
“Only at the school level will matric exams be administered. According to the New Education Policy, this is being done. There will also soon be a new board. However, SEBA's employees won't lose their jobs,” the chief minister said.
The class 10 exams were conducted by the Assam Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) and the Assam Class 12th Board Exams were administered by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The two state boards will now be combined, he stated.
The pass/fail assessment method will continue to be used for students in Class 10. But only Class 12 pupils would be allowed to take the board exams. Students who are enrolled in level 10 will not need to submit an application for admission to Class 11 because promotion to the next level will be a continuous process.
This year, 4,22,174 students sat the Assam HSLC Class 10 exams, with a pass rate of 72.69%. Assam HSLC Results 2023 were made available to the public on May 22.
