UPSEE (UPCET) Syllabus 2024: UPCET has been replaced with CUET UG and CUET PG. The syllabus is provided by NTA on the official website of CUET UG and CUET PG. Check out the syllabus for CUET UG and CUET PG mentioned in brief.

  • There are 3 papers in total for various CUET UG courses and the syllabus for each differs. All questions asked in the exam will be objective in nature with four options to choose from. 
  • In CUET PG, there are 75 questions based on the domain subjects. There are more than 35 domain subject and the syllabus varies from one another.

This paper consists of 100 questions of 4 marks each. Each section consists of 25 marks.

Section C (Mathematics):

  1. Set Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations. • Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
  2. Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear /quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.
  3. Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola.
  4. Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.
  5. Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.
  6. Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.

Section D (Computer Awareness):

  1. Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.
  2. Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.

Ques. Will there be negative marking in UPSEE (UPCET) 2024 Exam?

Ans. As UPCET has been replaced with CUET, there is negative marking in CUET UG and UCET PG. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Ques. Is UPSEE (UPCET) exam easier compared to JEE Main?

Ans. UPSEE (UPCET) exam is generally considered to be easier than both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Candidates unable to qualify for NITs or IITs based on JEE Main/ Advanced scores can appear for this exam. However, the exam has been scrapped now.
