AHSEC class 12 syllabus 2022-23 has been released on the official website of the board. The board has reduced class 12th syllabus by 30% for the session 2022-23. Assam Board also prescribes language subjects for class 12 students. 

  • No changes in the syllabus of class 11 have been announced yet.
  • The maximum marks for the exam will be the same as earlier.

Assam Board Class 12 Subjects

In class 12, there are five subjects in all streams including English as a compulsory language paper. Economics will be an option for the science stream and a compulsory paper for the commerce and arts stream.

In AHSEC class 12, English is a compulsory language and along with that students need to opt for another Modern Indian Language or Alternative English. The Modern Indian Languages are as follows:

Ques. Where can we get the latest updates from AHSEC?

Ans. Both SEBA and AHSEC have separate official websites on which they publish the latest notifications and updates. Students are advised to frequently visit the official websites and follow authorized websites for updates on results, syllabus, and marking schemes. 

Ques. What is the pass mark for the Assam Board class 12 examination?

Ans. For class 12, if the subject includes practical as well as theory examination, the candidate should obtain 30% of marks in both practicals and theory separately to pass the examination.

Ques. Is the syllabus for class 12 board exams revised for 2022-23 session?

Ans. Yes, AHSEC has released the revised syllabus for class 12 on its official website. Students can also check the detailed syllabus given in this article above. 

Ques. Is it compulsory to pass in optional subjects in class 12?

Ans. It is necessary to secure at least 33% in all the subjects irrespective of their category (optional or compulsory). Any candidate securing less than 33 marks in any subject has to appear in a supplementary examination.
