Remarks:

One of the good aspects that the college possess is its brand name. It has a lot of advantages. One of the bad aspects of this college is its management. Most of the bad things that happen in the college wont go out and no one will ever come to know about it. Students have almost no voice. If somebody thinks of declaring a strike the management will suspend them. The placement was bad this year due to the pandemic situation. But last year was good. The sports facilities are good. But the fund approved for sports are stolen many a times. The admission process starts june month and the classess will commence on August 1st week.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Stipend:12400/monthI think Financial Assistance is not given for students who are financially backward. Fees is Rs 45000/semester, Rs 30000 for food and accomdatn and can slightly increase. The placement was really poor this year because of the pandemic situation.

R V College Of Engineering, stands as one of the top colleges in Karnataka. R V has so much of best infrastructure, we can find innovation centre which might help students to implement their ideas. What is life like at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru?Life at RV? Really ? Listen.1) College starts at 8:30 for fourth years and the for the rest at SHARP 9.2) You are nothing without your Identity card. Either 'Proudly' wear it else don't go to college.3) You should learn to deal with the arrogant security guards. They have more power than any other officer at RV.4) Say No to T-Shirts.5) Tests are conducted every month. By the time you get your report card you would have got the time table of the next.6) Attendance above 85 is compulsory else be ready to submit medical certificates.7) The project report is more important than the project.8) Half your pocket money will be spent on photocopy of notes, getting reports printed etc.,.9) Get used to standing in queues for examination fee, college fee payment.and the super lengthy procedure of getting 100's of challans signed. If you have a vehicle you will have to go through the painful procedure every month.10) You will have exams on Sundays too.The list is never ending.10) Every rule in RV will irritate you. At times you might even regret choosing RV. But trust me, you will get used to all this.Life at RV is fun too.1) There are many cultural clubs like CAT, DEBSOC, QUIZ CORP etc.,.You are given an opportunity to be a part of any club of your choice.2) We have an annual fest-8th MILE. The fest month is just awesome. We have DJ nights and other shows during the event.3) You will meet extraordinary people here. Your classroom will have the biggest nerds. Initiating mass bunks will be a pain in the ass.4) You will get to learn a lot. Probably not in the classroom, but if you are a part of technical teams.Life at RV is hectic I agree. But in a way it makes you a responsible individual. You will fall in love with the place in spite of all the strict rules and regulations. If by any chance you have an opportunity to join this prestigious institution, don't miss a chanceI admitted to R V College through PGCET exam on 1st January 2021 and the admission process is bit a complicated you need to go through counselling, firstly you will be going through verification procedure where they verify your original documents and next process is online option entry for colleges, where you need to enter your colleges of interest, after few days the mock allotment results will be released and then you can categorise your choice and after few days 1st round allotment result will be announced. If you get a college of your interest then you can go for choice 1 where it says Iam satisfied and I will admission or else you can go for 2nd or 3rd choice for 2nd round. I took my relatives guidance to join this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Power electronics has a lot of scope in upcoming years, here you can either go for a job or teaching profession after your graduation.Faculties are very friendly here, you can find many PhD holders here. Some of the faculties use Smart class to teach the subjects and some refer classroom teaching. Mode of evaluation of slightly different at RV. We will have exams after every month, totally 3 cies(50+50+50 per CIE and another 50 Marks is for assignments(30M) and 2 quizzes(20M))and one SEE.In cies no choices are given and per CIE will be there for 50 marks. It will be downgraded to 50 taking all cies into consideration. In SEE 5 modules will be there, from each module you need to answer 1 full question. Here for cies you need to read all things since no choices and it's gonna make you work very harder. Passing exam is not difficult if you read all the notes which will be given by respective faculties.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is very good here. Over 150 companies visited our college this year giving 100% placement to four major deciplines in b.tech. M.tech placement is on 67%. Top companies like Google , Microsoft , Apple , Oracle visited. But most of the job required Coding skills so must have knowledge of coding because core jobs are very limited.Yes internship is provided here lots of companies who offered job also offer internship to 2nd and 3rd year students. I am a M.Tech student getting a stipend 12,400/month.

Ques. How are the placements for an Mtech Electrical in Power System and Power Electronics at IIT Madras?

● Top Answer By Tushar Banerjee on 28 Mar 23

Ans. Generally, in the electrical branch, almost 80-90% of students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 1 CPA . The lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Jane Street, Google, and Microsoft. Almost 60% of students got internships in P&G and Dr. Reddy Laboratory. The top roles offered are engineer in petroleum industries and analyst in pharmaceuticals. However, Power Systems and Power Electronics branch has its own shortcomings. Although most companies of EE allow Power students to sit for placements, if they lack knowledge of ECE subjects of GATE, they cannot clear the written test  You will have limited options unless you are proficient in VLSI. Interviewers may not consider you if you haven’t done VLSI courses Core companies of Power Electronics hardly visit the campus. Those that do visit, either require a high cutoff like 9 CGPA like Enphase Systems or offer a package lower than 8 LPA. So what is the solution to getting better packages as a student of Power Systems and Power Electronics? Well, you have two options  Either, do some VLSI courses offered at IIT Madras itself. This will get you a good package from top companies like Intel and AMD. Or become proficient in coding These two ways can save you from getting a below-average package. It’s highly advisable to do some courses not related to power engineering to increase your chances of employment because most core companies offer packages lower than 10 LPA.Read more

Ans. Whether joining IIT Jodhpur is worth it or not depends on individual expectations and prospects. Like any other Institute, it does not guarantee placements in any company. I can only offer you an insight, the test depends on your perception of the same. The faculty of the Electrical Department of IIT Jodhpur is highly learned and experienced in their respective fields The electrical department has well-equipped laboratories and modern equipment and systems required for research work. The placement scenario is decent and the highest CTC ranges from 12-15 LPA. A few recruiters who visited in the past to recruit students were INTEL, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, KEC International Ltd., and Vehicles Ltd. Most of the packages offered by these companies were below 10 LPA.  IIT Jodhpur has recently shifted to a new campus so its infrastructure and campus facilities have improved. Ultimately, it’s you who can drive whether joining IIT Jodhpur is worth it or not.Read more

Ques. Which is better for an MTech in electrical engineering, NIT Trichy or IIT Guwahati?

● Top Answer By Bidita Ghose on 05 May 23

Ans. The choice of the institute for pursuing an MTech in Electrical Engineering depends on what you want from your Masters.  For those on the lookout for placements, NIT Trichy has a good placement scenario, especially for Electrical Engineering. They are even better than some well-known IITs in M.Tech, especially Power Systems.  However, if you are willing to pursue a career in research after MTech (Ph.D.) then you will have to give great importance to the choice of the institute. An IIT is best suitable for prospective Ph.D. holders as they have global recognition too. Ultimately, the better institute is a matter of preferences and career prospects.Read more

Ques. How is the industrial power and automation for an M.Tech at NIT Calicut?

● Top Answer By Devesh Saraf on 21 Aug 23

Ans. NIT Calicut Industrial Power and Automation branch is a perfect mix of Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation/Automation. It comprises important elements of both fields and is a great choice for students interested in the field.  However, if your primary goal is to get placed , then you have come to the wrong place. Most companies visit NIT Calicut to recruit BTech students and they are given preference to MTech students. A few exceptional cases get placed in huge firms though. The faculty pool is very small and the most highly regarded professor of the branch is Dr Ashok S. The branch has excellent lab facilities and is therefore a great choice for research enthusiasts. The IPA labs are highly advanced labs with modern equipment. The labs have PLC, SCADA, DCS, VFD, BLDC setup, and DSP setups too. Overall the IPA course at NIT Calicut is a great choice if you are interested in the field and want to pursue a career in research.Read more

Ques. How is IIT Ropar for an M.Tech in power engineering?

● Top Answer By Sanjay Tomar on 08 Sept 21

Ans. Some experience preferably an internship in the private sector can come in handy if you want to pursue M.Tech in Power engineering at IIT Ropar. Before you make up your mind, research the challenges of power engineering, its strengths, and drawbacks, the scene of the program in our country, the opportunities that remain unused, etc. Decide if you would like to address these problems on your own or with the team you will be making. There is still a gaping difference between demand and supply in our country. There are also problems in transmission, losses in transit; thefts that take place by unscrupulous elements. Other than these, there are also generation gaps, technology or equipment that has become obsolete. You will need to address these problems when you will pursue the course and apply your knowledge in the real world.Read more
