The college faculty are quite knowledgeable in their respective subjects. For any type of queries they are very helpful and also interact in a very friendly manner. They conduct the practical classes in a very organized way as well. They even arrange extra classes for students with active backlogs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fee of the course is pretty reasonable as compared to the teaching quality provided. One needs to submit the fee only during eacb years admission. There is no much hike in the fee policy. The admission fee for each semester was 12000 and the complete cost of the 3 year degree course is approximately 50000 or less. They also have government scholarship opportunities for students on merit basis. One can get a good amount of scholarship each year during the graduation period.

Campus Life:

There are many programs that are conducted by the college each year they include the freshers after the admission process . It usually happens in august-october. Farewell programs are held department wise after the course completion for the final year. Other festivals like Saraswati puja, Eid e milad etc are held during their specific timings. Sports and oyher curricular activities are conducted by the faculties and the students union group. Students election are also held.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To be honest ,iwasnt sure for this course but i have keen interest in astrobiology and neuroscience or bioinformatics.i think professors here should more focus on experimental based studies with some current data ,they should review their strategy, they should involve some camputer tools for learning.the frequency of exam is good but I think there should be some oral tests rather than written as we are already sucking by making practicals.

Campus Life:

College holds various societies and clubs like I was into ramjas Debating society, ramjas literary society no doubt it boost your overall personality and skill. Library is overall good but just needs to have more no of seats , the good part is we have e journals and e books. We have two big grounds and a good sports complex and the students holds alliance with many NGO and they create their own clubs and societies.

Tuition fees are free as it is an govt.institution but the admission fees are around 8000 nearly 9000 which is nearly the same when compared to private institutes. So that rises a problem for some of the students obviously due to various reasons. No job roles or internships yet in our college. Scholarships are the ones given by the state only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average cause there's not much outdoor activities lacking funds. However there are also sometimes few activities that do help us improve and prepares us for the real world. Improvements are largely needed for professors to be more interactive as well as in their teaching.

Many different types of scholarships are available and the course fee ranges between 23k to 26k per year. One can do different kinds of internships and projects alongwith the course they're pursuing. The college website has a list of scholarships which they offer which I think is a really great thing.

Campus Life:

The overall infrastructure is okay. Delhi University is known for fests which I also think is really great. The fests evening are mesmerizing. Another advantage of being a student from Delhi University is the clubs and societies as it develops and enhances the personality of students.

The social events are commendable which is known within the whole state. Events invite numerous renowned figures from various fields to be a part of the programs. The sports quota is also available which is in accordance with the Assam government and also further with the Indian government. These events allow interactions between students and social figures with encourages them. Only a bit lacking is the infrastructure, it's compact and small.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The university itself is not money minded. The faculty members are also supportive of the financial background one comes from. About tution and mentorship, one could go to professors who provide one on one facilities with minimum fees. The scholarship availability is top notch even within the university and in collaboration with the government. I myself is studying with the help of numerous scholarships.

There is annual fest ' Lashkara ' which is organised at the end of the year near December and January. The college gets crowded there are stalls everywhere inside the college. The Mata Gujri Library is really spacious and has 3 floors and each floor is packed with numerous journals. The class room is provided with a projector, one white board, on black board. All the classroom are equipped with ac's. There are a lot of extracurricular activities to do there are societies for every activity such as Bhangra, Dance, Theatre, Music, Debate and discussion, Prakriti the Botanical Society. Talking about sports there are international level players that come to the college one of them is Amoj Jacob. Manjot Kalra, India U-19 player is also a student of S.G.T.B Khalsa College.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The inclusion of courses such as ability enhancement course and generic elective helped me as a student to broaden my knowledge. There used to be monthly conferences on various topics that helped me improve myself as an orator. The classes were very much on time so the amount of break that we got was a bit less. Exams were designed according to average and above average student and had the same topics that our teachers made us focus on.

The campus of Delhi University is fantabulous. We invite our friends form outside to visit the beautiful campus . The infrastructure of my college is also the best with red buildings shining in the greenery of Ramjas. The social life here is also very good and some clubs provide free entry for du students. The fests are also held and managed and our favourite celebrities are invited.

Faculty:

The foremost thing because of which students like me want to take admission in Du is obviously the DU faculty. Our teachers have thorough knowledge of their subject and the take their profession very seriously as classes are regularly held practicals are performed very nicely.

I personally was privileged to have wonderful faculty for my course in my college. All teachers are excellent in their own respective fields, and they believe in providing a learning environment where the students feel free to explore by themselves and discover. They also make sure that the students feel free to approach them for any problem that they might be facing, even if its apart from academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was a part of the CBCS Framework, not NEP. CBCS is good, as all the papers are arranged in perfect order and there is no repetition. The curriculum also ensures that all aspects of the field are covered, so that the students can get exposure to each of them. But this course is not useful for anyone who wants to enter corporate world. Its only good for those who are interested in research.

Easy availability of books, magzine and daily newspaper is provided by college. There are wide range of books available. There are extra curricular activities and sports as well between different departments. There is a well equipped gym as well in our college. The clubs grooms our skills like leadership qualities, management and communication skills.

Faculty:

The faculty is really good and supportive. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. We feel free to ask any of our queries without any hesitation. The lectures are interactive and the way the teachers starts from scratch to develop the confidence of students is definitely plausible. But these experiences are highly subjective and may vary from person to person.

Ques. What is the admission process for B.Sc. Hons. Botany in Ravenshaw university and what is the cutoff?

● Top Answer By Rati Singh, on 16 Nov 21

Ans. Admission to Ravenshaw University (RU) is done purely on a merit basis. Your scores in class 10+2 examinations will determine your selection. First, fill-up the form and wait for the merit list. If you are selected in the first round, you will be needed to submit the documents with a demand draft of the amount mentioned.  If you are in the waiting list then also you will have to come to the college to submit the demand draft, showing your interest in taking admission. If you do not get selected, your draft will be returned. The cut-off marks usually change, so nothing could be said for sure. To get some idea about it you can check the previous year's cut off marks in the admission brochure.Read more

Ans. Both colleges have their fair share of similarities and dissimilarities. Let me provide some facts about both of them, analyzing which you can move ahead with your decision. Both the colleges are excellent in their own way. The infrastructure of Science blocks is very good in both the colleges. Both colleges have diverse cultural societies. Players -The Dramatics Society of KMC, is one of the best in DU All colleges of DU have similar faculty. Some of them are exceptionally good, while others are average. KMC, being almost in the centre of North Campus, has its own perks. It is said to have better placements than South Campus colleges. The laboratories in the Botany and Zoology Departments of KMC are newly built.. The student crowd of KMC, however, is not as good as that of SVC.  The administration of KMC is pathetic.  The hostels of KMC aren't as good as those of SVC. Ques. Which is a better college for a B.Sc. in botany Ramjas or SVC?

● Top Answer By Milind Sen, on 21 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Ramjas College, so my answer might be a bit inclined towards it. But SVC is also a good institution, so the choice basically depends on that particular individual. Ramjas is located in the North campus while SVC is in the South campus. Ramjas is known to have the best faculty for Botany at Delhi University. They have a dedicated greenhouse for botany students in Ramjas. Both SVC and Ramjas have really good lab facilities.  ECA participation is almost the same in both colleges.  Ramjas has its own Model United Nations society, which SVC does not.  Also, Enactus Ramjas, which has been second in the nationals for 2 consecutive years, is far better than its SVC counterpart. Categories B.Sc. in Botany at Ramjas College B.Sc. in Botany at SVC Course Fee INR 80,895 INR 37,098 Highest CTC 12 LPA - Average CTC 6-7 LPA 4.4 LPA So, it all comes down to the fact where you want to live, grow and explore. Choose the one that suits your requirements the best.Read more
