Fees and Financial Aid

I am here to tell that , in my college my fees structure begins from Rs 35000 all the way up to Rs 60000 depending upon the course selected . They provide scholarship for the marks scored in 10th and 12th board examination, they are 25% for marks scored above 80% and 50% for marks scored above 90%.The fees also include stationery fees, examination fees, tution fees, and some other fees such as penality for non payment of fees within specific date and for some breakage. They also streesing us to join for verting add on courses which they are not implementing properly. Overall my view about my college is that they are over charging for every service they provide which they should give over free of cost.

Placement Experience

The placements in this college is quite low compared to other colleges as there is no proper training to attend the round in the placement. The placement process starts only after reaching 3rd year and there is no proper internship oppertunities so that the companies wouldn't select the students. The package of students depend on their own efforts to get placed in top companies and the packages rages from 120000 to 300000 per annum. The highest package was about 600000 per annum. So far total less than 70% of the students are getting placed and balance students are abandoned. My plan is to persue my goal to become a professional chartered accountant.

St. Aloysius is well reputed college which has been running for the past 144 years. My personal experience as a first year is very good . My college fee for my course is 90000/-. The college doesn't only focuses on academics but also on other social and cultural fields giving students opportunity to thrive in all fields. The facilty to student ratio can be say like 30 to 40 students per faculty. The relationship is absolutely fine b/w students and faculty and we respect to our faculties and their approches are very good to us. . Can't tell the name of teacher due to privacy but there is a teacher who teaches us accountancy and related to commerce. The reason behind liking him is he behaves like friends and treat us like friends. .Again according to me there is not any faulty whom i hate or dislike. . There is 1 internal exam in every semester and its normal if you are good at studies and hard for who doesn't study properly.

Campus Life

. Annual functions are many, i can't remember the name even because some time bollywood actors got invited and sometimes fresher party happens every year. Ans also evey year on the occasion of Holi there is festival called holi mela happend.. . I am not a librarian guy so can't say more but in library i have seen that there is many books available for every studenta for every course. . The faclities in my classrooms are available like ACs are availbale and also smart boards in every classes. .My college organised sports every year in february months. Sports like:- cricket, badminton and kabadi

Placement Experience

To be honest ssmrv has a good placements options available when you are in the final year or will be open and from 5 th semester you will be eligible for placement and as everyone are freshers the salary is to low and average package should be 4lac lpa. Some of the companies that has offered me during placement are KPMG, Deloitte and Accenture also hdfc bank Only 30-40% get selected for placement most get rejected or student will have plan for further studies. One of my friend got the highest package in the class which was 624000/lpa I had thought of persuing mba so did not accept any offers but once I completed degree gave interview in my own and got selected.

Campus Life

SSMRV has many festival and events conducted in a year such as ssmrv habba, annual day and lots of competition across other colleges aswell. Library is average but you do get good books and journals that you can take also borrow and give it back. The campus is little old school and proper renovation needs to be made. The sports ground is very compact space and no outdoor activities can be fine with that ground however we do have good indoor activities such as chess and carrom. Also we have different varieties of group such as theatre, music, dance and singing club.

Faculty

The faculties are very helping towards the students. They never put down any students. Infact they help the students a lot during their exams are nearing. Faculties are indeed the best supporters. Commerce faculty because they were indeed the best. English faculty as they were so greatful towards us. Hindi faculty as always they use to inform us about activites. Kannada faculty were sweet. Science faculty helpful. Arts faculty helpful. CA & ACCA faculty are the best supporters for CA & ACCA students. I dont think so i didn't like any faculties because all were best in their place and never let anyone harm us or shout at us for any mistake not done by us. There in 3 years we have 6 semesters in between each semester we have once a half sem exams. So total of 12 times of exams. There will be 3 to 4 students who might of not cleared but its their fault as 2 wont come to answer the exam and few take the paper lightly. The course curriculum is very relevant.

Campus Life

There are a lot of annual and technicak festivals along with the months that are typicakky held mainly College day, Fest, Halloween, Cultural day, etc. There are a huge runge and accessibility of books and journals available in the library. They are very good and knowledgeable books in our library. There aee good facilities and technological provisions within the classroom. There are good number of sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus. There are students whi run social groups clubs or student portals and their impact on student life is very good at times.

Faculty

Faculties are very friendly and available at all the times to clear your doubts. They treat us very well and guide us to become the best in our life providing educational as well as moral support and supporting us to achieve our goals. I liked all the faculties Daphny Mam was the incharge of BCOM professional she was soo good that she worked hard for everyone's well being They used to conduct 2 internals and 1 sem exam and before that subject wise mock tests had been conducted which helped the students in practising very well

Fees and Financial Aid

I had opted for BCOM professional course for which thefees was 60000 for 1st year and it gradually increases for 2nd it was 62000 and for 3rd year it was 65000 which includes all the tution fee lab fee registration fee and more on. Those who get highest marks will be given scholarship amount to encourage the students and there will be concession for the poor students with the fee structure. In BCOM there are many courses and the fee differs with the different course

Facilities are good enough with students, but some are very partial, kannada and english department faculties are very good, most of the faculty in the commerce department are unlikely to talk with students, there are 2 tests and 2 exams that they conduct, many students try to clear their exams in first attempt.

Course Curriculum Overview

I would better suggest everyone to go with normal bcom and not with any professionals, as they are always late in our college, so time to time the syllabus were completed, sports and other extra curriculum activities should be improved, languages need more time for writing in the exam

Exam structure is 3 CIA AND 1 ENDSEM out of which the second cia is the MIDSEM. The difficultly level is average if one understands the topics

Campus Life

The overall experience of the campus life is quite decent. There are annual sports meets and many other events such as musical day , ethnic day , degree day etc where students showcase thier talents. The college library is very big and has all kinds of books starting from dictionerys to guides to novels evrything is available in the college library. The colleges provides us with huge and clean classrooms with a smart board and projectors. The classrooms are cleant every single day. The colleges provides great opportunity for athletes. Various sports activities are held often to encourage the students. There are social groups such as SAHAAYA in which students compulsorily have to finish 30 hours of service every year by visiting orphanages, old age homes , beach cleaning drives etc. 1 rupee donation is done every Wednesday and the fund collected is provided to the government schools. There is an official student portal called student connect and pacyfica. The students connect allows us to see our attendance, assessment marks and also give feedback.

Fees and Financial Aid

To begin with the annual college fees for the professional bcom batches it would be upto 75,000 and I have opted for the CA batch along with bcom so my fees comes upto 90,000. Coming to the scholarship, there are various scholarship schemes just as vidyaspoorthi, sports scholarship etc which comes upto 5,000 of reduction in fees or 5,000 in cash. 1 certificate course has to chosen every year and the fees of the course depends on the course you've chosen ,it ranges from 500 to 2500. I have payed my entire feed which is 90,000 and my fees for my additional english classes which is 75,000 and every year the fees increases by 6,000. For the regular bcom batches the fees would be 55,000 and for bba batches it would be 55,000 as well. For the additional english classes 75,000 has to be paid by all students who opt for this language irrespective of the stream they choose.

Campus Life

As it is Bangalore City University the books to study is available in the library. All class has well equipped projector and a podium. Sports and extra curricular activities is not given much interest. The campus is just a building with a small ground. Where in your not allowed to the ground and the canteen there is always on WIP for some renovation. Even if it is opened it doesn't have much food varities or such

Placement Experience

There placements available but they are not well versed. There is no immediate offer letter provided. I applied in the first placement that happened in the month of Nov 2022 and got selected and received a selection letter. Now it is 2024 Dec where I still didn't receive my offer Letter. Not everyone gets placed and the average package is around 3.5-4

Ques. Which course is better: B. Commerce Hons or BA Economics Hons from DU?

● Top Answer By Divjot Bagga on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The answer to this question will rely on your future goals, what you compassionately dream of doing, and what you believe you will truly like. However, Economics Honors from DU is one of the best courses with exceptional scope and value in the corporate world. Everyone is aware that the University of Delhi's most prestigious course is Economics Hons. Rapidly rising cutoffs provide proof of this.  Additionally, compared to other courses, it offers higher placement prospects. Nevertheless, immense power entails great responsibility. It's not the kind of subject you can get by with just one night of studying. It necessitates commitment and diligence. Additionally, it is the most challenging course the university offers. So, BA Economics is the best option for anyone who is keenly interested in the subject.  BA Economics(Hons) is DU's most difficult yet prestigious course. As a result, if you are in the unreserved category, you will need a higher percentage. Try to get a score of 90% or higher to get into DU, and 95% or higher to get into DU's good colleges. In the end, it all comes down to your score.Read more

Ques. What is the passing criteria for B.Com (H) year 1 SOl DU?

● Top Answer By Sanjana Kapoor on 06 Oct 23

Ans. SOl DU’s first year exam of B.com isn't as tough as you might think. A few criteria for passing the first-semester exam are as follows:  To clear your first year, you need to score at least 33% in every subject, out of a total of 75 marks. Sounds doable, As long as you hit that 33% mark in each subject, you're on track to successfully move forward in your academic journey. Now, let's talk about the "what if." If, unfortunately, you score below 33% in any one subject, don't worry too much. You won't have to repeat the entire year. Instead, you'll need to give an ER (Essential Repeat) the following year, which is your second year. Here's the trick - try to aim for an ER in as few subjects as possible. If you have to give an ER for more than four subjects, then, yes, you'll have to repeat the entire year. So, as you dive into your first year, remember that success is within your reach. Stay focused, study hard, and aim for those 33% scores. Read more

Ques. Which DU college is better, Ramjas or Sri Venkateswara for B.Com?

● Top Answer By Samiksha Madan on 21 Jan 22

Ans. Both Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara are reputed colleges under Delhi University. According to the reviews online Sri Venkateswara (SVC) is better when it comes to commerce than Ramjas. SVC has better placements, faculty and overall exposure. Both colleges are very much involved in cultural activities and extracurriculars. If you are willing to opt for a science course then go for Ramjas, Commerce is better in SVC. They both have no strict rules to maintain a 75% attendance, you should just have enough to sit for the internals. Students who are unable to sit in the internals due to their involvement in clubs and societies have to submit an ECA to their teacher. This is possible in both the colleges. Ramjas has a better infrastructure than SVC. But all these do not matter much, if you are dedicated to your studies, you can succeed in any college. Choose the college nearer to you, the north or the south campus.Read more

Ques. Should I go for B.Com (P) from Motilal Nehru College or Shaheed Bhagat Singh (E) College?

● Top Answer By Ria Arora on 13 Jan 22

Ans. Motilal Nehru is a morning college whereas Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) has both morning and evening colleges. At first, you will have to decide your preference for the timings. One of my friends graduated from Motilal Nehru College (Day) and has had flatmates studying in evening colleges. According to him their routines were completely different. So, the choice completely depends on you and which time of the day you are comfortable with. Motilal Nehru has a competent faculty, with spacious new buildings, library and good placements. They also have active societies such as Enactus, DebSoc, Archon Leadership Cell and others. Another benefit of being in Motilal is that it is located in the South Campus and is always crowded. This crowd attracts the building of proper hangout places. Its Satya Niketan market offers good places to eat and good coaching centers. On the other hand SBSC (E) would only give you the benefit because of its past reputation, good sports infrastructure and its proximity to Select City Walk. Therefore make an informed decision as this will be motivated towards the shaping of your career.Read more
