AME Avionics Types

There are essentially two categories of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Courses, as detailed below:

A Program

The A Program, spanning two years, comprises one year of academic training followed by a practical phase in real-world settings, where students collaborate with airlines, MRO companies, and other relevant organizations. During this training period, students may receive a stipend. Upon completing the course, students become eligible to apply for the license granted by the DGCA. This license qualifies engineers to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot basic aircraft faults.

B Program

The B Program, spanning four years, combines two years of academic learning with two years of practical training. Live training sessions, in collaboration with airlines and MRO companies, may include a stipend. Graduates of this program, holding a DGCA-issued license, are qualified to operate globally in public and commercial aviation. The mechanical stream emphasizes aviation components like Fuselage, Landing Gear, and Wings for the B1 license, while the avionics stream requires a B2 license for expertise in electronic systems associated with avionics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum, as both BSc and AME lectures are conducted accordingly, faculty members are so helpful, you can contact them whenever needed, I personally liked this course because I had an interest in aircraft from childhood, so I decided to do this course, all faculty members are well qualified, each instructor completed particular module for their particular subject, exams are conducted in every 4/5 months , but as we are affected from corona in the first year so we are lagging behind so our exams are conducting in 3 months, in AME sem passing percentage is 75% and in BSc it is 35% so it is not very difficult.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fee structure is 690000 including AME and BSC also included training, regarding scholarship so, in 1st sem, you can apply for TATA TRUST scholarship, for that, you need 80+ in 12th after that in 3rd sem you can apply on the basis of the average percentage of both 1st and 2nd sem that is 80%, you can get a scholarship of about 1 lakh +, so many students were selected in campus interviews of many airlines.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was passionate about aircraft and technology. So technically oriented works. Faculty to student ratio is great as most of the staff are ex-Air forces so no need of thinking about the faculty. As faculty is from ex- airforce they have sound knowledge and practical knowledge. (Note: but may be of other sorts of aircraft like defense supersonic) term exams were so perfect timely maintained and exams were somehow difficult. But as per the DGCA norms set down in CAR-66 now. Basic Maintenance Training Organisation.

Campus Life:

There is no website for students run by students but there is a big and beautiful huge alumnus on our campus as our campus started long back in the 1960s in Guindy and then changed to padappai in 2012-13. Due to some regulation changes. Classrooms were great and the aids provided are all the latest technology projectors and seminar calls for seminars and workshops and practical labs. Good library. But no digital library when I was in college
