My Personal and Honest review on HIET

Remarks :

Eligibility is 10+2 or equivalent and you should have an interest in aviation aircraft maintenance, sound knowledge of basics of electronics, electrical and electricity. Basics of science and principles. Interest in learning about aviation rules and terms and procedures. Should have 70% also academics preferably. Should be hardworking as post completion of the course should not be in a hurry to earn as it takes time to earn properly. Financially should be stable and strong. More passion and patience oriented and should hold it for a long time like 5-8 years. Should be ready to spend 7-10 years without expectations from the work and job. Campus placement and support could have been better. Finally, campus and course are good when the other person won't have much hurry for earning, supporting family, both financially and morally.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course as I was passionate about aircraft and technology. So technically oriented works. Faculty to student ratio is great as most of the staff are ex-Air forces so no need of thinking about the faculty. As faculty is from ex- airforce they have sound knowledge and practical knowledge. (Note: but may be of other sorts of aircraft like defense supersonic) term exams were so perfect timely maintained and exams were somehow difficult. But as per the DGCA norms set down in CAR-66 now. Basic Maintenance Training Organisation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Nowadays fees have hiked so drastically for this course all over India. But keeping in view as an investment for this course and drawn salary after the course is like very bad. But as I said previously it takes a lot of time to be spent in aviation for this course to get proper income and successful. Scholarship and financial assistance were provided properly.

Campus Life :

There is no website for students run by students but there is a big and beautiful huge alumnus on our campus as our campus started long back in the 1960s in Guindy and then changed to padappai in 2012-13. Due to some regulation changes. Classrooms were great and the aids provided are all the latest technology projectors and seminar calls for seminars and workshops and practical labs. Good library. But no digital library when I was in college

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility was good as that was the first year when I joined in hostel facility. ! Food was good . Totally value for money at that time. In 2014-16. Facility was like individual bed and chair and a desk for studying but it would be a 10 sharing / 3 sharing which was available at that time...! But it was a far away village. But now in 2022 that village is developed and we can get almost everything in that village.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is the best possible course you can choose. You have a total of 10 modules to pass with 74 percentage pass mark. It's a course of 2 and half years with 5 semesters. Exam are conducted every month in the particular exam centres with the allotted fees. As aviation is a growing industry and my passion for aviation is the reason behind my choice. Training on authorised airlines and mro' s are scheduled for every semesters.
