I had interned with 2 law firms i.e. Lawyer's Knit and Shailendra & Associates. there I took care of the filing and drafting of cases. I also had to prepare briefs of the case. i worked on different kinds of Civil as well as Criminal cases.
I interned with Knowledge steez for 2 months. I am working with My captain as a campus manager and in DHFL as a marketing intern
The placements are decent and the college tries it's level best to arrange internships for the students. With regards to stipend, I'll say that it just depends on the luck of the student if the law firm or office or company offers the same.
The placement and job opportunities are at the worst place they can be. There is not a single law firm (corporate or litigation) which comes to the college for placements. There is no concept of day zero in the college. The organizations that come are primarily insurance firms which give a less than sustainable offer which has to be taken by the students because of the inherent lack of choice. The college doesn't even provide internships in law offices and discourages anyone who wants to apply and intern on their own. There is no attendance relaxation shown for students who are interning and there is no internship break given by the college, hence the students have to miss classes and intern at the risk of getting detained (yes this has happened). The college always maintains that the internships are a personal responsibility and the college doesn't care about the students internships. The college doesn't have the authority which has the expertise to run like an actual law college.
Our college gives you the freedom of forming a Placement Cell which includes elected batch mates. These people are responsible for getting internships and companies to the college. The student body is super enthusiastic about this and gets a fair amount of Placements.
Yes the college provides the internship but firstly its on the discretion of the student that where he want to apply. If he able to find any internship then he is free to do whereever he wish to but if in case he cannot find the internship then college takes the initiative.
The college used to give internship time (holidays) before. These were times when you could intern. But the university got that canceled because of working days weren't enough. Now students just take a month off each semester and intern. The placement cell of the college includes a representative from every batch and you can approach them if you want an internship somewhere. I had also gotten an internship via the placement cell. That particular internship did not have a provision for a stipend.
Yes, college provide good internship to students. It was stipend and best experience in delhi high court or law firm.
