SIMC Pune MBA Eligibility Criteria & Fees

Applicants must be qualified with the following for admissions at SIMC Pune.

Candidates must have a Graduation from any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Students waiting for results of their final year are also eligible to apply for the admissions with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

SIMC Pune MBA Admission Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions can follow the process for successful registration. The students can apply online. It is a two-step process.

How to Apply?

Visit the official website of SIMC Pune.
Register yourselves with the necessary credentials and do the payment online.
Only the candidates who have registered and paid for the SNAP are eligible for the admissions.
After the payment, a SNAP ID and password will be generated.
With the ID and password, you can fill the form for the MBA program at SIMC Pune.
A portal for SIMC MBA registration will be available to fill the form.

Selection Criteria:

Upon registration, students can appear for the SNAP exam. However, after the entrance, there is still GE-PI to be followed for the admissions.
GE PI includes three components that are :
- Group Exercise to witness the innovation, team, time management and creativity skills among the students. Relevant activities are conducted to analyze these skills.
- Personal interaction to witness the interpersonal, communication and academic Proficiency skills of the candidates.
Based on the overall performance in these two phases the students are finalized for MBA admissions.

SIMC Pune MBA Entrance Exam

The syllabus for the SNAP exam includes the following sections:

Quantitative	Data interpretation, Data insufficiency, Trigonometry, Ratio and proportion, percentages, partnership, time, speed and distance
Analytical and Logical Reasoning	Column graphs, pie charts, coding and decoding puzzles, syllogisms.

SIMC Pune MBA Courses Details

The two years MBA program curriculum is offered in the specialization of Communication Management. This includes Communication, Public Relations, Media Management, Marketing and Media Analytics.

In the first year, the course work has 55 credits and a total of 2750 marks.
Candidates must have a minimum of 40% marks with CGPA 4.0 to continue with the succeeding years or else they are considered failed.
In the second year, students can choose the elective courses as they wish which they find useful for improving their skills.
The course work is divided into four semesters that is two years.
In the summer, students can go for internships and attain Industrial experience.

The course is a bit on the higher side and all of it feels really unjustified when one has to attend almost the entire course sitting at home. A lot many financial services, even though available, where also unclear owing to the havoc in communication caused by the pandemic.

There are different modes accepted - DD, Electronic Transfer. The fee needs to be paid semester-wise, and there are notifications and updates regarding the payment from the admin team. No additional fees required to secure admission. Yes, the college does provide transparency in the fee-breakup in the beginning itself.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

I had to take an education loan. I repaid it with my job after placement. Annual fee for 2 years was 4 Lac apart from hostel & food charges which were 65k and 25k per year, if I correctly remember. But it was pretty much similar to all other leading colleges of its league, in my understanding.

The fees at SIMC are a little on the expensive side but they are met with the facilities and the infrastructure that is provided. I have stayed at quite a few hostels of various institutions and I must say that the facilities at SIMC (health, food, stay, sports) are one of the best.
