Vikram Deb Autonomous College was established in 1947 in Orissa by King Rajashri Vikram Dev Verma with the help of the Government of Odisha for a noble cause of educating the tribal population. It was erstwhile known as Jeypore College.
It is situated in Koraput in Odisha and associated with Berhampur University, also accredited by NAAC. Admissions at Vikram Deb Autonomous College, Odisha is purely based on merits obtained by the students in the last qualifying exam. Students should take admission before the mentioned deadline.
The Government of Odisha has issued a system of SAMS for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. After the selection of students, which are done centrally at OCAC, Bhubaneshwar, the students are informed by SMS, E-mail or their name will be displayed on the list on the notice board in the college
How to Apply?
- Students must apply online on a single form called the Common Application Form (CAF). Students can apply for any stream or course option.
- After filling the CAF properly, students must submit the form to the college they want to apply to.
- Students must then pay the appropriate fee to validate their admission application.
- Students should keep the applicant’s copy of CAF as proof of submission for posterity.

- The teaching style of every teachers is awesome. They thought us like the faculty of private colleges.
- The college campus is massive. So for management of the college a bit loose.

- Only one thing I don't like is the cleanliness of the campus.

I applied only for government colleges and on the first choice I got the placement. But choosing this college is for the teaching and curicular activities. The college campus is peacefull and they are sooting the soul exam are strict so you can know your real potential

I applied in BJB Autonomous college, Royal junior college,Times Gurukul except Vikram Deb Autonomous College. It is now a reputed university in koraput district. And this college provide excellent education abd placement

- Our college is recognised as one of the best college in our own and neighbouring districts. Last year it was re-establish as Vikram Dev University by chief minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik(now former chief minister).
- School campus is large. It is 26 acres big as mentioned. Each and every department have their separate buildings. Ncc and sports facilities are also available at this college.
Dislikes
- Buildings are too old. As generation z we expect to study in Modern classes with smart boards, wifi, computers etc. there are many smart rooms in the college. But the building where our physics department exist don't have smart rooms or smart boards.
- As our department didn't have smart rooms and smart boards, we aren't able to study and understand the concepts easily as physics is a kind of subject which must have to be taught through smart screens and modern equipments.
Admission:
I choose this college because as I mentioned it is one of the best college in our own and neighbouring districts. It was also now recognised as Vikram Dev University (previously Vikram deb autonomous college). Admission process is very simple, we just have to apply for the college through online website called SAMS ODISHA where we can choose colleges and subjects according to our choice. Cut-off marks are based on 12th grade percentage. For average cutt off marks are 70- 80 averagely in first selection and 65-70 in next selection and so on.

- the quality of food provided to all the students.
- not giving the chance to go outside the campus

I chose this college as because of the cost of money was free of cost and there was no need to pay any money while joining the institution. I was not got rejected from any college or institution. The cut-off was not so high.
Likes
- Actually there was good facilities about sports and any other circular activities like ncc training was also very good
- The faculties also very good and very helpful staff they support for any type activities like studying playing
Dislikes
- The security was tight during the night time they will not allowed to go out side after the 9 o clock
- The play ground was filled with a lot of player at a time of 5 minutes late then u cannot get a seat for play that was bad

The college Vikram Dev University I choosed because the location of this college is very good place and reach autonomous college inter Koraput district so and there is so many kind of sports curriculum activities like NCC training and dancing singing and also there is very very large number of teachers compared to other college that's why I closed that college

- During exams students are cheating there and this is not a good thing.
Admission:
1. Eligibility - any students after 12th can apply but at least one subject contains maths in previous. 2. You have to check the SAMS Odisha website, you will get everything details or you can go to Vikramdebcollege Odisha website. 3. reservation can get scholarships and lower fees than others. 4. The exam paper is normal, and not too difficult. 5. You have to visit one time while admission so there should be no need for this modern age.

- No good food at the hostels and some are very much repeatative

The admission process was very simple you can apply through online sams website and when you will selected you will be informed by the college and you have to go to the college with the required documents.you have to score above 80 % in 12th boards.and there are 6 semesters conducted by the college in 3 years

- The behaviour of teachers and communication and teaching way of the lectures
- The sports ground and ncc facilities to the students

- The corner areas outside the classroom were not so cleaned
- Hostel capacity is very low and fees also not affordable

The admission process was very smooth. You have to go to the college with the required documents on the college mentioned date and they will conduct it in a department/classroom and call you by your name then they will take all your documents and you will be free after that.
