Review of NEIGRIHMS medical College

The infrastructure of NEIGRIHMS is very beautiful and up-to-date
The hostel is also very beautiful with 24hrs water & electricity

Dislikes

The college is 10km away from Shillong city
There is very less shops near the campus, that too closes by 8pm

Hostel Facilities:

Our hostel fees is Rs.500/month . We usually get single room by 2nd year and in 1st year we stay in double rooms. There is 24 hrs hot/cold water and electricity in our hostel. Use of electric induction is not allowed. The hostel infrastructure is awesome like that of newly built AIIMS institutions. The mess fess is Rs.120/day but the quality of food is not good

I like the student teacher ratio here in neigrihms as it is low and the faculty is able to teach all the students .. The faculties here are very supportive
The campus life... The campus has good sports facilities .. Best for sports lovers and fitness enthusiast

Dislikes

The sports timing isn't really ideal for the students.. It'll be good if they can extend the timing and give more time for the students to play
The pre professional university exam can't be more stressful than you can imagine... Giving two papers for one subject everyday without any gap in between.

Hostel Facilities:

We get double shared room for first year mbbs .. Single room is available in second year.. There is two hostel for both boys and girls.. The water and electricity is 24/7 Cleanliness of hostel is less to none.. Mess fee is 3000-4000 per month Non veg ( chicken / fish) and veg is available for the students..

Likes

The climate of shillong is the best, neither too hot nor too cold, perfect to study.
Campus life is good, no social evils, ragging, or discrimination. Importantly the campus is always clean.

Dislikes

Some departments do not meet the expected quality of teaching.
Mess has never been praise worthy despite all complains.

Hostel Facilities:

One room is alloted for each student. Each room provides a bed and a matress, a table and a chair, a wall fan and a tube light and two plugs. All these facilities are free. We get breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. The quality is not good compared to the monthly mess fee of ?3720. We get bread, tea and sometimes paratha as breakfast, dal and alu at lunch and chicken at dinner on Sunday and Wednesday and fish on Monday and Friday. Around ?1000 was paid for hostel admission, after that there is no monthly fee. It will take about ?8000 to live in a rent monthly.

I like the trips which I do with my friends.

Dislikes

I dislike mess foods.Many times they are tasteless and unhygenic.
I dislike to go to class everyday morning 8 oclock

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel is good.Rooms are good along with infrastructure.We are stay in hostel for free and the mess money we need to give include ?3720 everymonth.There is no registration process for hostel .If anyone gets admitted in college,he/she will get hostel for free.

The Central library with abundant space and books
Huge campus with trees all around and well maintained

Located a bit far from main town, roughly 10km from shillong and 4 from the nearest town
Administration doesn't really care about the food quality, some do but the results are short lived

Hostel Facilities:

Hostels are compulsory for everyone, some local students do stay outside but need to pay the mess fee of 120 rupees per day. Each room in the old hostel has 1 bed, 1 table, 1 cupboard, 2 power sockets, 1 chair and 2 windows. The new hostels provide 1 extra cupboard in addition to the above and also has 2 elevators. Common washrooms with 6 toilet and 6 shower rooms per floor. There is a mess area where food is brought but lucky for us who live in the old boys, food gets cooked here so we're always the first to have it available. The mess is on contact and probably the worst part of the college. The food doesn't taste good half the time and only on regular complaints they revert to improving, for a short while sadly!

Hostel facilities are nice as the hostel facility that are provided to us has clean and clear rooms well built their separate hostel for boys and girls but the hostel fees is 4000 which is for the mess fees per month which we have to given the food quality in the mess food is very bad. It contains insects and others, the quality of the meal have to be improved and it does not provide an option for the vegetarian

The campus is very big and the student teacher ratio is very good and you got to learn so many things because teachers are very student friendly and infrastructure is very large and the internship will be paid 30K
The campus is very greenery and it’s very beautiful and pleasant and students can feel relaxed

Dislikes

Sometimes there is load shedding which is problematic for the students during the exam time. The patient is less therefore students get less exposure.
There are no holidays in this college and and vacations are very less and they are for student has to go to college every day to maintain the attendance of 75%

Hostel Facilities:

The hostels are really good. during admission you have to pay 5000 as the hostel fees. Thereafter every month you have to pay ?120 per day as the mess fees. There are two hostels for boys and two hostels. For girls. These hostels are all kinds of facilities. lifts are available. the wardens are really good. The mess food is good. Weekly we get four days chicken two days fish in one day egg in the night. Then in the morning every day there is boiled eggs with bread or jam or butter or sometimes Puri sabji and chole bhature. The Hostel has 24×7 Wi-Fi facilities and drinking water facilities, the bathroom are equipped with hot water geyser and cleanliness maintained every day . in the first year, he will get sharing rooms with another person from second year onwards, you will be assigned an individual room.

No any good sport facility inside the campus
Shops are not easily available around the campus

In 1st year we were allotted with a double accommodation room where we have to share our room with our batchmates. From second year we are alloted with single room having 2 almirah, balconi is there along with each room. Meal quality is average. Hostel fees are included along with annual fees

Neigrihms a college cum hill station.

Environment is very soothing . Landscape is great . It is an a hill station.
Campus Life is good . Teachers are friendly . Because of less number of student strength , faculty knows students individually.

Dislikes

Here you need to walk a lot because the distance from hostel and college is nearly 1km . But is is inside campus only .
You have to buy a bike because of this distance .

Hostel Facilities:

In the hostel from 2nd year onwards u get single room . In 1st year u get double rooms . Rooms are very large and we'll accommodated with all the furniture. Lift facility is available inside the hostel .

Can I get vegetarian food in the NEIGRIHMS Shillong hostel mess? I am a pure vegetarian hailing from Rajasthan.

You’ll face a problem regarding mess food if you are a vegetarian.

The girls’ mess still provides an alternative option when non-vegetarian dishes are served, but the boys’ mess offers no alternative. The mess food is poor in taste. As a vegetarian, you’ll end up spending around Rs. 3000 per month eating from the Cafeteria or Guest House. The boys’ mess serves no roti, only rice. The girls’ mess offers roti and comparatively better food.

Other than the food at the mess, everything else is top-notch at NEIGRIHMS.
