About CiTech MCA

Cambridge Institute of Technology (CiTech) in K R Puram, Bengaluru, offers a two-year, full-time MCA under VTU with 120 seats. The MCA department started in 2009. The college holds NAAC A+ and stands #358 in Collegedunia's B.Tech ranking 2025. The full fee for a KEA seat is INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years, without hostel. You get a KEA seat through the Karnataka PGCET exam and KEA counselling, and KEA offered 57 seats here in 2026. The General seat closed at rank 3,502 in round 1 of 2026. The college reports one NIRF figure for all its PG courses. It shows a median pay of INR 4.96 LPA, with 49% of the Class of 2025 placed.

CiTech MCA Fees

The total fee for a KEA seat is INR 1.27 Lakhs, and INR 1.29 Lakhs if your degree is from outside Karnataka. The tuition fee is INR 1.16 Lakhs of that. The college does not publish a hostel fee or a management quota fee, so ask for both in writing.

Should you pick MCA at CiTech?

This course suits students who want an IT job in Bengaluru and can get a KEA seat through PGCET.

Pick it if:
You want an IT job in Bengaluru: the campus is close to the Whitefield IT offices, and the college list names TCS and Infosys.
Your rank is just past the round 1 close: the 2025 last round went much deeper, so keep your options open for round 2.
You need help to get ready for interviews: the MCA department holds a weekly two-hour training on aptitude, group talks and interviews for senior students.
You are SC, ST or Category-1 from Karnataka: the state cuts part of the fee, so enter your income RD number in the PGCET form.
Skip it if:
You want MCA-only placement figures: the college gives one median for all its PG courses, and fewer than half of that batch was placed.
You want a small class: the MCA has 120 seats, so you compete with a big batch for the same campus companies.
You need the hostel fee before you decide: the college does not publish it, so ask the Admission Cell in writing before you pay anything.
You cannot wait long for round 2: KEA has asked the Supreme Court for two more rounds, so the round 2 dates are not fixed yet.
Counsellor's advice
If round 1 gives you this seat on a Rest of Karnataka rank, take Choice 1 and report. If your rank is past the close, keep your options open and wait for round 2.
MCA Eligibility▾
Degree: A BCA, a computer science engineering degree, or a B.Sc, B.Com or B.A. with Maths in Class 12 or in the degree.

No rounding off: KEA reads your percentage as it is, so 49.9% does not count as 50%.
Exam needed: A Karnataka PGCET rank. KEA (the state exam body) gives every KEA seat on this rank.
Final-year students: You can write PGCET while you wait for your degree result.
MCA Admission Process▾
Write PGCET: KEA holds it once a year. The 2026 MCA paper was on 14 Jun 2026.

In short
SJBIT has the same KEA fee and an easier close, but it placed a much smaller share of its PG batch. If your rank clears CiTech, take this seat and keep SJBIT below it in your options.
In short
Acharya IT has the same fee and better PG placement figures, but its close is tougher. If your rank clears Acharya IT, put it above CiTech in your options.
In short
DSATM has the same fee and similar PG figures, but its close is much tougher. If your rank misses DSATM, CiTech is the more likely seat at the same cost.

FAQs on CiTech MCA

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is MCA at CiTech worth the fee?▾
Yes, if you get a KEA seat. The full fee is INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years, and the college reports a PG median pay of INR 4.96 LPA for the Class of 2025. That median covers MBA and M.Tech students too, so treat it as a rough guide. If you plan a loan, check the EMI tile in the fee block before you decide.
What job will I get after MCA here?▾
Most students aim for software jobs in IT services companies. The college list names TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini, and the campus is in east Bengaluru near the Whitefield IT offices. The college does not publish MCA-only offers, so ask the department for the last batch's offer list before you pay.
Should I take this seat if my PGCET rank is just past the closing rank?▾
Do not give up on it yet. The General seat closed at rank 3,502 in round 1 of 2026, but the 2025 last round went down to 5,282. Keep CiTech in your options for round 2, and keep a safer college above it. Use the rank checker above for your own category and quota.
Who should not take MCA at CiTech?▾
Skip it if you want a small class or MCA-only placement proof before you join. The MCA has 120 seats, and the college gives one median for all its PG courses. Skip it too if you need the hostel fee fixed before you decide, because the college does not publish it. In those cases, ask the Admission Cell first.
Is the batch too big to get placed?▾
It is a big batch, so you must prepare early. The MCA has 120 seats, and the NIRF figure shows 49% of the whole PG Class of 2025 placed. Join the weekly two-hour training the department holds for senior students, and build two or three projects before the final semester. Students who do this get the first offers.
Should I wait for round 2 or take a seat in another college now?▾
Take a seat now only if it is a college you would accept over CiTech. KEA has asked the Supreme Court for two more rounds, so round 2 dates are not fixed. If you hold a seat, Choice 2 lets you pay and still wait for a better one. Read the KEA rules on fees before you pick Choice 2.
Is MCA here a good choice for higher studies or a Ph.D?▾
Yes, it can be. The college has an MCA research centre under VTU since 2021, so you can stay on for a Ph.D later. If research is your plan, keep your marks high and do your final project with a faculty member. Ask the department about the research centre during your first year.
Is a management quota seat here worth it?▾
Only if you know the full fee first. The college does not publish the management quota fee, while a KEA seat costs INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years. Ask the Admission Cell for the fee in writing and compare it with the KEA fee. If the gap is large, try for a KEA seat in round 2 first.
What is the full fee for MCA at CiTech?▾
On a KEA seat the full fee is INR 1.27 Lakhs for two years: INR 57,750 a year as tuition and INR 11,880 once for VTU. If your degree is from outside Karnataka, it is INR 1.29 Lakhs. Hostel and mess are extra, and the college does not publish that fee.
Can SC, ST or Category-1 students pay less?▾
Yes, if you are from Karnataka and meet the income limit. SC, ST and Category-1 students with a family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs save INR 40,000 over the course.
