The S.J.V.P College was established with the initiative of Shree 1008 Srisaila Jagadguru Vageesh Panditharadya Shivacharya Mahaswamiji in 1970 with the aims to contribute to the educational and socio-economic development of the rural regions. Since, its establishment, the College has been providing higher education for the rural youth in the society. The mission of the college is to set a high standard in the field of education and develop students as a responsible citizen by using science and technology to teach students and hence prepare them according to the global standards. The college offers undergraduate and graduate courses in arts, science and commerce field. Moreover, it also offers distance education on masters and undergraduate level. The college has thus, established itself as a pioneer institution in Harihar city.
