The admission process at Asutosh College involves an online application followed by a merit list announcement. The college is known for its accessible location and knowledgeable faculty, though it faces challenges with a high student-to-faculty ratio, approximately 1:20. Students must pass internal exams worth 35 marks before taking the main exams worth 65 marks elsewhere. As a government institution, Asutosh College offers an affordable fee structure, with total costs for three years estimated at 48,000 INR.
Fees for specific courses like Computer Science and Statistics are about 9,000 INR per semester, while other subjects cost around 6,000 INR, with additional charges for tuition, session, and lab fees. Scholarships such as the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship offer financial aid of 18,000 INR. However, the college lacks a dedicated placement cell, resulting in limited campus recruitment opportunities. Only one company visited in the past three years, although students can seek placements with companies like Byju's, Amazon, and Flipkart in the final semester.
Placement success rates are low, with salaries between 2-3 LPA, considered below average. Despite the absence of a structured placement system, students often secure jobs independently. The college's fees are deemed affordable, especially for middle-class families, but the lack of campus placements and stipends presents a challenge for students seeking employment immediately after graduation.
