Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam is a institute of higher learning located in the heart of the metro city of Kochi. It is affiliated to Dr. Harish Chandra Gour University, Sagar. Maharaja College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams.
The college provides B.Sc degree for Seven subjects whereas for the B.A degree, it offers a total of twelve subjects and also the B.Com degree. At postgraduate level, the college offers M.Sc, M.A. and M.Com degree in various disciplines.The College also offers research facilities for Ph.D in 11 departments.
The college was elevated to the status of Autonomous College by the Government of Kerala and UGC in the year 2014. This is the only government college in Kerala which has been granted autonomy.
- All the undergraduate courses comprise of three years while the postgraduate courses are of two years
- Admission are done on the basis of merit list on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exams for both UG and PG courses, except for BA Music, where candidates need to go through an Aptitude Test for the basic knowledge in Karnatic Music (from saptaswaras to alankaras).
- Seats available in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes are classified as - Merit Seats, Sports Quota Seats, Cultural Quota Seats and PD Seats
Maharaja's College UG Admission 2024
Maharaja's College provides Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme with twelve different specializations, while the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) is provided with seven different specializations. In addition, the college also offers Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Computer Applications.
The college accepts direct admission for UG courses. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying exams i.e. percentage of marks received in Higher Secondary or any equivalent exam. Application process for the UG courses normally starts in the month of May every year.
Key Points to Note
- Candidates who has passed the Higher Secondary from WBCHSE or its equivalent Examination from any recognised board not before 2016 are eligible to apply for the UG course for batch
- For B.A in Music, Karnatic Music skills will be tested through an Aptitude test

Maharaja's College PG Admission 2024
Maharaja's College offers two years PG courses affiliated to Dr. Harish Chandra Gour University, Sagar. It provides Master of Arts (MA) degree with ten different specializations, Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree with nine specializations and M.Com in Finance.
The total intake for PG programmes varies from subject to subject. The total number of seats present for MA including all the specialization is 163, whereas, for M.Sc., the college has a total of 107 seats.
Admission to PG programmes are done on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying exams. Application process for the PG courses normally starts in the month of July every year.

- 75% of the total seats of MA programmes will be reserved for those who have taken the respective subject as Optional (Main) subject under Part III for the BA Degree Course
- 15% of the seats of PG programmes are reserved for Scheduled Castes, whereas 5% is reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

Maharaja’s College Application Process 2024
- Application for admission to all the courses can be submitted online through on the college’s official website for application i.e.98
- Click on the admission link of the course, fill in all the details required
- After the form is submitted, a challan will be generated. Take the print out of challan and deposit an application fee of Rs. 50 to any of the branches of the Federal Bank in Kerala.

- Wel occupied classrooms and best infrastructure.the facilities are wel qualified and graduated in known universities like iit .This improves good teacher student approach for research aspiring students. Friendly approach of facilities makes comfort
- A good open library is the most significant feature of this college .This helps more students in engaging studies and research .there are 3 floors of well arranged library with e library facility. This helps me to identify the books really easily

- Insufficient bathrooms and restrooms for girls
- Insufficient computer facilities are there

Admission procedure is based on the index score based on plus two .rank list published all over kerala and students got admission. This college is the only one government autonomous college in kerala and its ranked 2 position in all over india .the infrastructure, facilities and faculties are the main reason to decide this college

I chose this college because it is one of most prestigious college in Kerala. Compared to other colleges this college has less fees with good quality education. It being a govt. autonomous college is a plus point too. Only students with good marks can get into this college.

- College buildings - The college was build on more years back so that was very beautiful

The admission process of the maharaja's college is differntly from other college. If we first apply on maharajas college site to start the admission process in this college. Then they make rank list with all students which apply then more ranker will call them

- Campus view - I am studying in Maharajas college ernakulam. The campus structure was fascinating ...It was very greeny and the well known for its atmosphere. My college have above 149 years cause it was built in the old regime period so it look so st
- Library- My college have a large , attractive library with more than 5000 books.The Library of my college is the biggest Library in the colleges in kerala

- No placement - As my college is a government arts and science college..there is no opportunity for placements..
- Politics - Sometimes the campus politics in my college exceeds its boundaries

My course is ba in political science and the eligibility for this program is higher education passed with 50% above. As my college is very reputed only students more than 90% have chance to get here. Application is done in the college website as my college is autonomous. The application process has reservations for students belonging to SC/ST, OBC OEC, etc.

To take admission in this course you need to quality higher secondary (+2). Admission programme is fully online and there is no entrance exams till 2023. Reservation benifits are also available. Since the application process for admission is fully online, there is a need of updating the website by removing bugs.

After the deadline a correction window wil be open. If there any corrections ,you can correct it. Application fee is 100 for all candidates and for sc st application fee is 50. Each department consist of reservation for each categories in particular seats. After the completion of application process.admission process will starts and rank list is published . according to this list admission process undertaken.
