The college provides quality education with a strong faculty, particularly excelling in the BA Journalism program. Effective teaching methods enhance learning, and journalism students gain practical experience through access to advanced software and involvement in ongoing research projects. While the college offers placement opportunities in select courses, the journalism program does not include these, instead mandating a six-week internship with major media houses. Notable companies such as Google, Adidas, and Aaj Tak recruit through campus interviews starting in the fifth semester, with eligibility criteria in place.
Journalism internships are integral to the curriculum, offering experience in print and electronic media with media giants like The Hindu, The Times of India, and The New Indian Express. Students work in roles like reporter, editor, and content writer, with stipends varying by company policy and student performance. On-campus internships at the college's Community Radio Station provide additional media production experience. Several scholarships are available for students, including concessions for athletes and financial aid for academically strong but economically challenged students.
The journalism course fees are affordable, ranging from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 23,000 per semester, and up to Rs. 45,000 annually, excluding exam fees. The total annual cost for a BA in Journalism is about Rs. 60,000—covering tuition, caution, and development fees, but not exam fees—making it a cost-effective option compared to other Chennai institutions.
