From 7,8th sem we apply for a placement, campus placements are available, and many well-known companies come for placement. Placement packages are average, not too much but acceptable, average package is 4-5 lacs
In the third year students starts getting internships opportunities, and after companies start coming for placements and the 7th semester. There are approximately 80 companies that come for placements and almost every student gets placed. The highest package of this year is around 10 lakh and the average package would be 4-5 lakh. My plans are simple after getting a degree is that i want to work 2-3 years then i want to pursue my Master's degree abroad.
Yes, placement is 100 % for the student. In placement big company arrives and takes the interview and offers the job to the student. And in last if some student get no jobs then they placement to their own company and offers the job to the student. So student gets job offers easily.
I can rate UVPCE for placement as a average. For my batch companies visited campus were Adani, TCS, Ferrometic milacron, hetich. Other was off campus drives. For most of companies the placement selection process is almost same. First apptitude test, personal interview, Group discussions and then if you are selected then another technical interview round. From UVPCE every year about 40% students got placed from campus.
According to new research from Prospects 26% of final year students have lost their internships as a result of the pandemic. In the survey of nearly 5,000 students and graduates, almost two-thirds of final year students feel negative about their future careers, while the majority reported that they are lacking in motivation (83%) and feel disconnected from employers (82%). Their biggest concerns are that there will be fewer jobs, internships or apprenticeship opportunities in their chosen industries. It's hard to see the positives at the moment, especially if you've lost out on an internship, work placement or work shadowing opportunity but there are a number of things you can do to build your skills and gain experience during lockdown.
In 6th sem, we have to do compulsory internship, so that is helpful to us. the percentage of placed in my campus is average 8 CGPA.
