Passed B.C.A. / B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE)/ B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or equivalent Degree.
OR
Passed any graduation degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or Graduation level Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination. (for students having no Mathematics background, compulsory bridge courses will be framed by the respective University/ Institution, and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University).
PSG College of Technology MCA Admissions
Admission for the MCA Program at PSG College of Technology is entrance-based. Admission is taken through TANCET which is organized by Anna University. After the entrance test result is out, a separate merit list is prepared based on marks secured in TANCET and then merit list candidates are called for online counselling. The minimum duration is two academic years, divided into two semesters, which will be needed to complete the program and receive the Anna University Master of Computer Applications degree. Each semester will generally consist of 90 working days, including examination days. And, the maximum duration for the MCA degree program must be completed by the student in two years, or four semesters, but no more than four years, with the time measured from the start of the semester in which the student was initially admitted to the program. The final selection of candidates is based on:
- Scores obtained in the qualifying exam.
- A valid score in TANCET 2024.

- The candidate can fill out the application form online by visiting the Website - https://tancet.annauniv.edu/tancet/tac21/
- Click on the registration button and fill in all details like Candidate Name, Mobile no, DOB, Email, Password, Choice of examination, etc and submit.
- Make the payment online (INR 600 for Unreserved Category and INR 300 for reserved Category Candidates.)
- Login again with login details and
- Fill in personal details and after that fill in academic details and exam center preference.
- Upload your photograph and signature.
- Take a printout of the filled form and keep it for future reference.

PSG College of Technology MCA Program structure in various semesters is mentioned below:
- The course work of the odd semesters will normally be conducted only in odd semesters and that of the even semesters only in even semesters.
- Curriculum: The curriculum for the MCA program includes courses of study and detailed syllabi. The courses of study will comprise the prescribed syllabi. The hours/week for each of the courses refer to periods/week. Every student will normally undergo the courses of his/her program in various semesters as shown below: Semester 1: Five theory courses, two laboratory courses, and one application development course. Semester 2: Four theory courses, one elective theory course, one laboratory course, one application development course, and a Professional communication and personality development course. Semester 3: One theory course, four elective theory courses, one laboratory course, one mini project, and one Audit course. Semester 4: Project Work.
- Core Courses: Every student shall undergo ten core courses (Theory) and five professional elective courses.
- Laboratory Courses: Every student shall undergo four laboratory courses. Every laboratory course shall be evaluated based on the conduct of experiments/exercises, lab tests, mini-projects/development of software packages, and reports submitted.

- Mini Project/Internship: Every student will have to submit a report on the Mini Project/Internship on time. The student will also have to present seminars about the progress of the Mini Project/Internship. The seminars will be presented before a review committee constituted by the HOD. The Mini Project/Internship will be evaluated based on the performance, seminars, report, and a viva voce examination.
- Laboratory Courses: Every laboratory course will be evaluated based on the conduct of experiments/exercises/mini projects/development of software packages and reports.
