The Vysya College of Education, Salem was established in 2007 by "Vasavi Vidya Trust", a charitable trust formed by the munificent persons of the Vysya Community, to impart value based education to the student community in and around Salem District. The college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. It is a self-financed college. The institute is approved by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) and accredited with 'B' grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course.

Vysya College of Education, Salem offers the BEd in Maths course. The candidates should have undergone 10+2+3(15) or 11+1+3(15) pattern. Candidates who have qualified in P.G Degree (5 year Integrated Course) under 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern of study shall be considered for admission. Candidates having following U.G Degree and P.G Degree can also apply. U.G Degree in Applied Mathematics can apply for mathematics.
