Exam pattern is semester wise, including midterms and endterms. Apart from that, regular and surprise quizzes take place. The curriculum is very comprehensive and interdisciplinary too. If you want to pursue science and academia ahead, this will be one of the best things that you could pursue.
I chose the Chemical sciences due the vast applications it has across all disciplines and day to day life and also due to the good research facilities in our department that allow for impactfull research. The faculty in our department are very well established in their fields and are quite successful researchers. they are friendly and approachable if you have doubts and issues that need clarification. the faculty student ratio is good considering each department takes only 55 students from each batch of BS-MS students. The teaching method and style varies from teacher to teacher along with the grading pattern for exams. The term exams are mostly fine if you have understood and practised the topics covered in the classes but they are mostly based on understanding and problem solving type questions rather than memorisation based.

I chose the course because I was really interested in pursuing research as a career. Faculty: student ratio is satisfactory. The faculties are highly qualified and they were eminent researchers. They all have Ph.D. and post-doc degrees. Term exams are rigorously taken in a scheduled way.
Integrated MSc, dual degree MSc-PhD is available. Faculties are scientists working in the lab and taking classes. There are a lot of quizzes and mid-semester and end-semester examinations. In the first year, maths is tough for everyone.
We can get a job in BARC only by a job interview, and people can join ISRO and DRDO, but most of the Niserites focus on Ph.D. after their course as most of them want to pursue research as their main goal, otherwise, they can also join industrial jobs.
Students who have more than 7.5 CGPA in five years integrated M.Sc course, get a chance to attend interview at Bhaba Atomic Research Centre. Candidates of the institute get good salary according to their job roles. The highest CTC is paid for Ph.D students which is around Rs 4.5 LPA.
Students interested to pursue the Integrated course at NISER must have scored a good score in the NEST entrance and students may appear in the round of counselling for seat allocation. Students may have scored minimum of 60% marks in their XII from any recognised board.
Overall niser is a very good place to pursue education. The environment is very good as it is in the outskirts of the city, pollution is minimal, making the telescope viewing sessions very good. Only the alumni factor is negative about it as it was established very recently.
The college management is very good. They quickly respond in case there arises any problem or issue in the campus.
