Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT) is an Engineering and management institute located in the city of Chennai. It is affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE and NBA.
SMIT Chennai offers engineering courses at the undergraduate level. At postgraduate level, the institute offers degree courses of MCA, MBA and M.E. It also offers Ph.D. in Engineering.
- Admissions to B.E are done on the basis of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling and merit score of the qualifying examination.
- M.E, MCA and MBA admissions are conducted through TANCET scores and graduation marks.
- Ph.D. degree is granted as per the rules and procedures laid down by Anna University.

SMIT Chennai B.E/B.Tech Admission 2024
SMIT offers admission into four-year degree course of B.E in 8 specializations and B.Tech under 3 specializations. B.E aspirants must have passed Class 12th examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Candidates who have passed Class 12th examination Vocational Stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu are also eligible for TNEA counselling.
Admissions to B.E are conducted on the basis of merit of Class 12th and TNEA counselling. TNEA is a non-entrance based counselling conducted by Anna University. Candidates seeking admissions must register for TNEA counselling and follow the procedures thereby.

- Candidates seeking admissions in B.E through TNEA can apply online for admissions.
- Application forms for TNEA counselling are available in online mode only.
- The eligibility criteria such as marks, the number of attempts and the mode of admission are prescribed by the Syndicate of the University.
- Candidates should have completed 21 years of age as on first of July. For SC/ST candidates, the age limit is relaxed by 3 years.
SMIT Chennai M.E, MCA & MBA Admission 2024
The institute offers postgraduate degrees of M.E in 6 specializations, MCA and an MBA program.
Candidates applying for M.E should have passed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant stream with Mathematics at 10+2 level and secured minimum 50% (45% for reserved category). They must have valid GATE score. MBA aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category).
Candidates seeking admissions into any PG course must have a valid TANCET score and should register for counselling conducted by Anna University. Admissions will be based on the ranks obtained by candidates in the entrance exam.
TANCET is conducted by Anna University for admission into various postgraduate courses offered in engineering and management colleges of Tamil Nadu.

The college grants Ph.D. degree in 2 specializations of Engineering. Admissions are conducted as per the rules and procedures of Anna University. The minimum eligibility is a Master’s degree in the relevant branch of Engineering.

- First of all the campus is very quiet and large it has good environment so that everyone used to come to college because of the sports ground where people just come and calm them.rhe campus is very exquisite and everyone has their fav spot

Eligibility of the course is secure 70% in maths physics and chemistry. Direct application is available No need of the entrance exam The cut-off mark start from 120 The possibility of loan is also possible

Eligibility for the course is 45%+ in the 12th exam. Application and admission can be done through Tnea counselling or the college's official website. If a first graduate student can reduce the fee up to 30k. It would be better if mostly online processing.

The Admission process was quite fast. They kept an Entrance exam in which we need to score high as they will consider this cut-off mark excluding your public exam marks. For this, you should learn your 11th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) Subjects for the entrance exam. While coming to the course you can choose the one that you like. Comparing your cut-off mark they will tell your fees for admission. The application form is available in the College itself. so, You can visit there and ask them directly. Moreover, the admission process is good so it doesn't need any improvement.

The eligibility of the course is really simple and i found the form through the event which is conducted in the Nungambakkam trade centre chennai . The number of students increasing year by year a lot. And it's a good college too.
