Netaji Subhash Engineering College, affiliated with MAKAUT, provides 45 UG and PG programs across departments of Engineering, Architecture, Computer Applications, Science, and Management. Admission to the B.Tech programs is conducted based on the performance in the JEE Main/WBJEE Exams. The WBJEE closing rank in 2024 of B.Tech (CSE) was 18138 in the All India Quota (General Category). The admission to the BBA and BCA programs depends on the performance in the MAKAUT CET. Later, shortlisted students are allocated seats based on the counseling sessions conducted by the university. The average fee for a first-year B.Tech program is INR 6.26 Lakhs.
For PG level students, M.Tech, MCA, and MBA programs are offered at NSEC. The average fee for a First-year M.Tech program is INR 1 Lakh. Students are admitted based on the PGET/GATE score for the M.Tech program. The JEMAT/WB JECA score is considered for the MBA and MCA programs.

NSEC B.Tech Admission 2025
NSEC offers 4-year B.Tech programs across various specializations. The admission procedure, eligibility, and selection criteria are discussed below, with the WBJEE cutoff of 2024.
- B.Tech programs are available across specializations like Computer Science & Business Systems, AI & Data Science, IT, Bio-medical, CSE, ECE, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates must have passed the 10 + 2 Level Examination with at least 45% Marks from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for general category students.
- A relaxation of 5% to 10% in basic eligibility criteria is provided for reserved category students.
- Must have passed English in the 10+2 level examination with at least 30% marks.
- The performance of students in the JEE Main or WBJEE exam determines the B.Tech admissions.
- Students qualifying the entrance exams are required to apply for the counseling process through the online mode from the official website of NSEC.
- A counseling fee has to be paid during registration.
- Accordingly, students have to fill in the choices of institutions, programs & branches as per their preferences.

NSEC M.Tech Admission 2025
NSEC offers a 2-year M.Tech program in 2 specializations of Control & Instrumentation, CSE, ECE, and Power Systems in full-time mode. The eligibility criteria and selection criteria are as follows:
- Eligibility Criteria: A Graduation degree in Engineering/Science with 60% Marks in aggregate or 6.75 CGPA.
- A Valid GATE / PGET score is considered for admission to M.Tech programs.
- Candidates need to appear for CCMT counseling or university counseling.
- Candidates are given equal weightage to the GATE score.
- Shortlisted candidates are then examined based on the CCMT counseling round.
- For CCMT counseling, students need to apply online through the official website.

NSEC BBA Admission 2025
NSEC provides a 3-year BBA program at INR 1.05 Lakh. The specialization, intake capacity, the eligibility criteria, and the admission process are explained below:
- The BBA program is available in Business Administration, Digital Marketing, and Hospital Management.
- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 level examination in any stream from any recognized board of education.

NSEC offers a 2-year MBA program in Administration in full-time mode with a 60-intake capacity. The eligibility criteria and selection criteria are as follows:
- Eligibility Criteria: A Graduation degree in Engineering/Science or any other relevant stream.
- Students need to appear for the JEMAT Exam conducted by MAKAUT.
NSEC BCA Admission 2025
NSEC offers a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Applications at a yearly fee of INR 1.5 Lakhs. With an intake capacity of 120 students, this 3-year program has a total of 6 semesters. The eligibility criteria and selection process of this program are explained below:
- Students must have passed the 10+2 level examination under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination.
- Selection to the program is based on the merit list prepared based on marks secured in the CET examination conducted by MAKAUT.
- Candidates must then appear in counseling on the dates specified by the college.

I applied for some college in Noida like GL Bajaj and I was getting admission there but because of the distance from my state that is Jharkhand I preferred this college. Also I applied in colleges like Heritage Institute of technology and Techno Main Salt Lake and I was rejected because my wbjee rank was not enough to qualify . The admission process of this college is that we get admission here through exams like 'Wbjee' and 'Jee Mains' and then there is are counseling rounds held in which we have to to participate. The cutoff for my course in this college was 30000 (wbjee rank) . The overall admission experience was good

My college is one of the top private college in west bengal for engeneering course and mainly computer engineering course.For this reason I choose this college over the other colleges which I getting according to my JELET rank.
Our admission process was so simple.
After booking my seat via internet we had to go to the college main office to submit our fees via demand draft and other documents.

Others college which i got confirmed is RIT /quantum and haridwar university but i didn't go there because it was very far from my hometown and placement wasn't that much good as compared to my current college. Admission process is through wbjee exam you have to score atleast 50 marks for getting good branch like CS or IT . Egiblity you should have min 60% in class 12th board

Faculty: Qualified and approachable, similar to other reputed colleges.
Placement: Decent placement for CSE,IT & ECE but core placement need more improvement.
Challenge in other colleges admissions:
(i) High cutt off and intense competition in top tier colleges.
(ii) Limited seats in preferred branches.

I have given the west bengal joint entrance exam(wbjee) and through it the nsec college was allotted to me through counselling process. When the result declared, you have to apply for counselling and put your choice of colleges with rank. Every round you will be allotted college according to your result rank. After accepting the college giving 5000 , you have to go for physical verification to the college.

I applied to multiple engineering college including RCCIIT, HIT, NSCE . I received admission offers from all three but chose NSEC due to its flexible attendance rule, no strict uniform regulations, and NSEC was the cheapest engineering college in Kolkata. HIT and RCCIIT had school like descipline, including mandatory uniforms and strict attendance rules, which i wanted to avoid.
I did not get any rejections, as I secured admission to the college I applied to. However I didnt aim for higher ranked colleges due to cutoff constraints.
Students can get admission to NSEC through JEE, WBJEE and management quota.
The closing rank for General category in 2024 ranged from 99621 to 1381931.
B.Tech in CSE:
Round 1 closing rank- 84670
Last Round closing rank- 139934
I got admission in B.Tech in IT in 2020 with a WBJEE rank of 16,234 and secured my seat in round 3. The counselling round were conducted online.
The admission was smooth and starightforward. In the time of admission they ask you 10th admit card, 10th result, 12th admit card, 12th result, WBJEE/JEE result, WBJEE/JEE admit card and aadhar card.
