Kongu Engineering College (KEC), Tamil Nadu was established in 1984. KEC is an affiliated college of Anna University. The college offers admission to various UG, PG courses focusing on Engineering and Technology. Admission to B.E and B.tech will be based on the performance in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). Selection to M.E and M.Tech will be according to the marks secured in either GATE/CEETA PG along with GD and personal interview. Admission to MBA and MCA will be based on the marks secured in MAT/TANCET followed by the group discussion and personal interview.
- Higher Secondary Examination (12th) with Physics, Chemistry and Maths qualified candidates will be eligible for admission to B.E or B.Tech course.
- A Bachelors degree holder in relevant subjects will be eligible for admission in the PG courses of M.E, M.Tech, MBA, MCA.

Kongu Engineering College offers admission to 11 different specializations under B.E./ B.Tech courses. The total intake of candidates in B.E. is 240 and B.Tech is 120 seats. - The candidates applying under the OBC category are given a relaxation 5% to the total aggregate score of qualifying exam, while the SC/ ST/ MBC/ DNC candidates enjoy a relaxation of up to 10%.

ENTRANCE PREVIEW -Counselling, mark based, from +2 , Anna University will conduct counseling for admission to UG engineering programmes at participating universities tentatively in the last week of June. Admission to engineering programmes will be based on marks obtained by candidates in PCM in the qualifying examination.
Kongu Engineering College Postgraduate Admission 2024
The College offers several PG courses viz. M.E./ M.Tech, MBA and MCA under different disciplines. The basic criterion to apply for admission in any of these PG Programs is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in relevant field with minimum 50% marks from any recognized institution or University. For MCA, Mathematics should be a compulsory subject either at 10+2 or graduation level.
The final selection of the candidates in M.E./ M.Tech is based on GATE/ TANCET while for MBA and MCA, it is MAT/ TANCET respectively, followed by Group discussion and interview session.

- The other activities including sports,yoga,paper presentation knowledge are there in our college. They are giving much importance for the sports by attending the other college game activities

- The distance between the college and hostel is far. So the lunch timing is small we cant eat properly and enter the afternoon session within time

I have applied for engineering counseling for the college and got this college. The college asks a minimum of 98.64 cut-offs. The college trust also keeps entrances for the students to give them scholarships. The process of treating the department-wise was slightly disappointing.

- Hostel is very bad not worth for money. Amenities in hostel are good but good is not worth for money and non veg not provided but fees is high
- Transport facilities to outside the college is less only private transport facilities

Cut off for general quota for cse is 192 and for bc is 189 . Admission is done every year through TNEA counseling and also management quota. Sports quota is available only for team sports and every year 15 students are given free education and hostel through this scheme. Admission can be improved through providing concession for talented students who join through counseling too
