What students say about University of Ottawa

Likes

  • Its a good experience; however, during my time, there was no internship support. But when I graduated, they introduced internship support. Moreover, it depends on students interest to get industrial exposure.
  • My college offers a co-op program in which, as a student, you can apply if you meet the criteria.
  • The university states that 90% of students enrolled in the co-op program are offered a placement, which is an excellent rate.
  • The University of Ottawa also has an online library that helps access most of the books online.
  • There are plenty of university accommodations available, including food facilities, but on the quite higher side of expenses.
  • The faculty-to-student ratio is also perfect, and you can ask them as many questions as you like.
  • Ottawa is the capital city, where Parliament is located. It was indeed a good idea to study politics and make connections in the heart of where it all happens.

Dislike

  • The fees were very confusing as it was very difficult to figure out what exactly we were paying for.
  • It is often difficult to communicate with the faculty, and adding minors to the program is very difficult

I chose the University of Ottawa because they offered a coop program. I also chose this school because I felt that as I wanted to go into account the fact that their business program allowed you to specialize early on was a plus.

I completed my grade 12 from India with an average of 90.21% CBSA board. I was looking for a university with good reputation and affordable for me. I chose university of Ottawa merely because I researched on Ottawa city and it appeared to be nice and cozy for a student. The whole admission process took around 40 days.

They offered the best scholarship and the program seemed like it would be quite good. It was also far enough away from home but close enough to visit at the same time. It's also a bilingual school that allowed for the chance to learn French.

Offers a great business program also in a great city right downtown Ottawa. Many specialties to choose from within the commerce program. Ottawa is also the capital city so there are lots of places to visit and there is always something to do downtown.

It has the program I really interested in the environment and this program was close to my house and close to my undergraduate university. I spoke to the professors and they seemed nice and the program seemed right for me.

Used to have a renewable scholarship. It's in the city I live in, so no additional cost for me to relocate, neither do I have to pay rent. It's known for its science programs, and I'm interested in science, so seemed like a good fit.

I chose this school because it had the program that I wanted to take. It also is in the city that I live in and therefore it is cheaper, so I don't have to move away. It's a good location because it is downtown and there are lots of things to do.

I opted for this college because the campus is downtown and surrounded by many things and places for me to spend my time. I commute to school, therefore, this was important to me. Also, this school had my program and the other I applied to did not.

Close to home and I wanted to go into a program where there was a minimal course load for any sciences courses. I am also able to save money and stay at home and live with my parents and not cook for myself

My program (French to English translation) is very unique and the university, of Ottawa's school of translation and interpretation within its faculty of arts, was one of the only schools in the province that offered it.
