Delhi University UG admissions 2026 open on 17 June 2026 through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal at @admission.uod.ac.in. Over 70,000 seats across 91 DU colleges are allocated round-wise, entirely based on CUET UG 2026 scores.

  • In 2025, Round 1 General category cutoffs reached as high as 926 out of 1000 for top programs, with cutoffs dropping 10-25 marks by Round 3. Students who filled more preferences had a significantly better chance of securing their preferred college.
  • Board marks carry no weightage. Seat allocation is based solely on CUET score, category, and preference order.
  • DU is a central university; there is no home state quota or domicile-based reservation for any seat.

DU CSAS 2026: College-Wise Participation

All 91 constituent colleges of DU participate in CSAS UG 2026. The following are the most sought-after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. How should I fill my preferences in the Delhi University CSAS portal if my CUET score is low (450–650) for a BA programme? If there is no chance of getting a North Campus college, should I keep South Campus colleges as my first preferences?

Ans. No. In CSAS, you should rank colleges and courses based on your actual preference, not on expected cutoffs. The system will automatically allot the highest preference for which you are eligible based on your CUET score, category, and seat availability. So, even if colleges like Hindu College, Miranda House, or LSR seem out of reach, keep them higher if they are your preferred choices. If you don't meet their cutoff, CSAS will automatically consider your next preferences, including South Campus and Off-Campus colleges.

Ques. Can I register for DU CSAS before CUET UG results are declared?

Ans: Yes. DU usually opens CSAS Phase I registration before the preference-filling stage. Students can complete profile creation, upload documents, and pay the registration fee in advance, while program and college preferences are filled after CUET results are announced.

Ques. Can I still get Hindu College if I rank it lower in CSAS?

Ans: Only if all higher-ranked preferences are unavailable. CSAS always allocates the highest preference to those who meet the cutoff. Many students miss their preferred college simply because they ranked it lower than other options when filling out their preferences.

Ques. Does accepting Kirori Mal College stop me from getting upgrades?

Ans: No. After accepting the allotted seat, you can choose the upgrade option and remain eligible for higher-ranked preferences in subsequent CSAS rounds. Most students are advised to accept first and then opt for upgrades.

Ques. How many preferences should I fill in CSAS?

Ans: As many as possible. There is no penalty for filling additional preferences. Students who list a wider range of college-program combinations generally have a better chance of securing admission during later allocation rounds.

Ques. Should I accept my Round 1 seat or wait for better options?

Ans: Students are generally advised to accept the allotted seat first and then opt for upgrades. Failure to accept the seat within the prescribed deadline can result in cancellation of the allotment. Accepting the seat keeps you eligible for future rounds while securing your current admission.

Ques. Why do seniors recommend filling in maximum preferences in DU CSAS?

Ans: A larger preference list increases your chances of being allotted a seat, especially in later rounds. Students with a restricted list often lose out on admissions despite strong CUET scores. There is no penalty for adding more preferences, so always fill the maximum number of eligible college-program combinations.
