The professors and staff are very supportive. The university has a lot of clubs, which keeps you engaged and helps you learn new things. However, the nearest train station is 17km away, and on-campus housing is quite expensive. The university policy requires first-year students to stay on campus, which can be a hassle."

Swapnil (Batch 2021), M.S Data Science says "I chose Rowan because it's a public university with good research opportunities and affordable tuition. I had a great experience with American culture and made many friends. However, I found the placement opportunities to be limited, and the accommodation could be better. Overall, it was a good opportunity to learn and grow, but there's room for improvement in some areas."

The international center is really helpful and responds quickly. However, it's tough for international students to find jobs, as there are fewer opportunities compared to U.S. citizens. Also, the class timings (6:30 PM-9:15 PM) can be challenging. I recommend future students secure accommodation well in advance."

Rowan University Reviews
4 Reviews Found
Likes
- I like the way of teaching by the professors (Classes have advanced teaching systems).
- Cleaniness everywhere in the campus (most at all the times).
- I like the support from international center(they respond very quickly).
Dislikes
- I dont like one thing about the college is, when coming to the jobs, there are more federal jobs available for the citizens than those for International students (Its common in USA as they give first preference to the people who live here).
- The college timings (6:30 PM-9:15 PM in most of the courses that I am having).
- Limited Part time work inside the college (Hard to get for international students).
Campus Life
- There are a total of 2 campuses to which I have gone.
- One is the main campus, which is in Glassboro, New Jersey.
- The other is in Camden, New Jersey.
- Rowan University has everything in terms of use for the students, including the library and Rowan Hall. Discovery Hall, Wellness Centre, International Centre at Savitz Hall, Dance Studios, Big Playgrounds (Outside), and Inside Play (includes basketball, chess, swimming pool, and many more).
- Halloween is the most celebrated one here and I am part of the one group of students in which I have participated in some activities.
- Rowan University gives much priority to all the students from different cultures and celebrates every festival on campus with conducting events corresponding to them.
- As I am part of Halloween and also our Indian festival, which is Diwali, I celebrated well with my friends on the same day here.
- Rowan University provides free food and drinks for every event they are conducting on campus.
Fees
- The full fee is $32085 (one credit = $1035). Fees is charged semester-wise and credit-based (for example, if I have taken 10 credits in the first semester, it costs exactly $10,350).
- Health insurance is mandatory in the USA (Rowan University offers $2700 per year).
- The good thing is that Rowan University accepts the insurance from ISO and ISI health organisations (costs around $1000 per year).
- We can pay the tuition fees in installments (there is no pressure in paying our fee, but one has to complete his/her payment before the beginning of the next semester as they will place a hold on our student account).
- As I am not staying in hostel, I am not sure about the charges, but students usually live in a rented house (For me, it costs around $600 per month, including food, utilities, other expenses like transportation, etc.)

- Diversity in University. University claims to be one of the diverse universities in the States which I think is one as the nationality of students exceeds from more than 40 countries which makes it one of the good place for international students.
- The Staffs and Professors. Until now my interaction with the staffs and professors have been very nice. Professors are really helpful and helps you understand anything you have problem with very easily and also the staffs working here are super kind and are always ready to provide you with a helping hand when you need one.
- Clubs By far this university has the highest number of clubs ranging from simple club for student to hang out and chill to club that helps student develop and learn new skills that can align with your major. The number of clubs on campus helps you constantly get involved in different activities constantly while helping you learn different new things as well.
Dislikes
- The facility for train station. The university lies on Glassboro which is a small town rather than some big city due to which the facility of nearest train station is almost 17km from university.
- Cost for on campus housing and dining. The cost of housing on campus is really expensive as the cheapest one being around 4800$ for a single semester and also the dining meal plans comes to around 2450$ for the cheapest one and you are only able to have 2 meals daily.
- The policy for students to leave off campus University holds a strong policy for any students under 21 to stay on campus housing and one can leave only if they have someone of their family member staying inside 40mile (64km) radius which applies for both international students as well as students for the US as well.
Campus Life
- There are three campuses of Rowan with all of them being inside New Jersey.
- Each of the three campuses being in Glassboro, Stratford and Camden. There is a REC center that has most indoor sports courts inside and also has a good gym, a library that contains almost all the books you need and also provides you access to all the newspapers and magazines published online and a wellness center that provides you with medical assistance both physically and mentally.
- There are a lot of grounds and courts for students to play on providing you with lots of different option of sports to play.
- The campus also hosts different cultural events for almost all of the major festivals of every religion which is also supported by student organization committee with respect to the following group of people. And almost all group of people have a separate student organization registered in university.
Fees
- All the international students are considered as a full-time student and are charged based on semester where you can take 17 credits per semester and in comes to total amount of 25600$ just for tuition fee per year excluding their hidden fees that comes at around 700$ per semester.
- Additionally, I paid 4800$ for housing and 2650$ for food per semester.

Overview
I chose this university as it was a Public university and it had great research opportunities. It was not that expensive as well and had great on campus job opportunities. The college life was great like I got exposure to the American culture and American sports since I was working at the recreational center as a basketball ref, and I made a lot of American friends being an international student, it was a great opportunity for me.
Campus Life
It is a great campus with a lot of opportunities. There’s a big recreational centre with libraries and sports centre, and this year they have also taken the initiative to add cricket to their sports tournaments for Indian students.
