The rigorous curriculum gives you an in-depth understanding of areas related to risk management, insurance and financial services. Armed with this knowledge, you’ll have a competitive advantage over other new hires and be on the fast track into an upper-level position.
Faculty members in the Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Law are experienced professionals and dedicated teachers who exercise a “learn today, apply tomorrow” classroom philosophy. An on-site Trading Room facilitates financial education and research through experiential learning. Users have access to the Bloomberg Professional software and stock tickers to view real market data.
Your class schedule for the first few semesters will consist of university core classes and required pre-business classes. From there, you'll take 24 semester hours of business foundation courses and 30 semester hours of risk, insurance and financial services courses and supporting courses.
The course work will focus on areas such as:
- Estate planning
- Life insurance
- Principles of risk management
- Property and liability insurance
- The financial effects of risk on businesses and nonprofit organizations

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
International Student Eligibility:
- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education.
- Official transcripts/diplomas (in the native language and English) showing all courses and marks of the final three years of secondary school.
Academic Eligibility:
- Minimum of three years and graduated from an accredited high school in the U.S.
- Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
