The Honest Review

ST
7.3 /10

The University of Houston can be an excellent choice for international students, offering a combination of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Course Curriculum :

The current Curriculum is good but it can be elevated further by adding a few classes that align with the field requirements.

Exams :

My GRE Score: 298. Verbal: 155 Quants: 143 TOEFL SCORE: 90 Reading: 24, Writing: 22, Speaking: 22, Listening: 22. I was over-prepared for my interview as I wanted to make it through on my 1st attempt. My SOP was nothing special but a description of what I wanted and what my skills and qualifications were.

Placement :

There are a lot of companies visiting during the Career Fairs. You have to be prepared to face the mock interviews that take place and sell your strengths to the visitors.

Internship :

I completed a summer internship during 2023. The name of the organization is APSI Construction Management. As for the details, it cannot be shared due to signing a contract.

Fees :

$ 19000 per year. (Related to tuition fees)

Scholarship :

I received a tuition waiver for two semesters as I worked for the UH Energy department as a Teaching Assistant.

Faculty :

The faculty is well-designated and is helpful throughout the semester. Dr. Zia Ud Din and Dr. Lu Gao left an impact on me as their methods of teaching are unique yet unpredictable.

Campus Life :

The campus life is very lively as there is a continuous line of events throughout the semester.

Hostel :

Each individual's opinion on how to search for accommodation varies. It depends on the locality you choose and the rate of that neighborhood.
