English Journalism has a vast scope, as the course offers different learning's like Writing, Preparing news bulletins, reading news, editorial, designing magazines and pages, radio production programs and many more. Before joining IIMC I was in my fairyland of journalism but the things basic to advanced taught here made me realise what's the competition outside is. No of faculties should be increased and course should be more advanced. Exams have a perfect timing but research paper is quite lengthy
I chose this course as it gives hands-on training and makes one ready to join the media industry. There are many visiting faculties who usually stay on the campus for about a week. Professionals from various fields including communication and academics teach at the campus. The teaching method is a mix of classroom teaching through the use of digital technology, and lots of activities and group work. Term exams were held on time and exams are easy if one's basics are clear.
I found Fees structure is feasible but might be expensive also as various students of India gives exam and get selected and their incomes range also varies. In 2019 there was a strike in the IIMC Delhi campus regarding the hike in the fees so the government decided now not to increase fees of the course as they were increasing every year by 10%. Apart from this freeship of 21,500 is also given to students with income certificates and EWS.
Course fee for the entire Journalism course was around 80k, which is a bit much for a centre funded institute. The institute provides facilities like a fully digital auditorium, studios, labs, library, etc.
