Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth is an agricultural university at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra, which was established in the year of 1972 as Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth. It received the Best Institute Award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth University offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programs mainly focusing on the areas of Agricultural Technology, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Dairy Technologies and Fisheries.

At undergraduate level, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth offers courses in the fields of Agriculture and Fisheries with a number of specialization subjects. All of these specialization courses are offered with the duration of four years. In order to get admission to the UG courses, candidates need to pass in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Admission to the UG courses are done on the basis of Merit in the pre-qualifying examination.

At postgraduate level, the college offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in the field of Agriculture to the aspiring candidates. The duration of the M. Tech. course is two years for regular students. Courses of study are offered in multiple number of disciplines and specializations. To get admission in the M.Tech program, candidates need to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized institute. Admission to the M.Tech program will be done through Common Entrance Test (CET) 2018, conducted by the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune. In order to get admission candidates need to sit for the CET and pass the examination with minimum 5.5 CGPA.
- 25 % seats shall be filled in all India basis through Common Entrance Examination to be conducted by I.C.A.R., New Delhi (It includes 10% seats over and above the sanctioned intake capacity)
- However, if among the above seats are found to be vacant then those shall be filled in at College / Institute level immediately after Centralised Admission Process and from the state merit list

At the postgraduate level, the college offers various courses focusing on the area of Agriculture and Aquaculture / Fisheries. All these programs are provided with various number of specializations. The duration period for both the programs is two years. The intake capacity varies for different specialization programs. Postgraduate admission are strictly on merit basis on marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET) of respective faculty for the current year conducted by Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB) and CGPA of the qualifying degree examination.
- Admission to all Postgraduate courses shall be on the basis of 70% of Marks obtained in Common Entrance Test conducted by Maharashtra Agriculture University Examination Board (MAUEB) and 30% marks of CGPA in graduation and weightages if any.
- 25 % seats for all Postgraduate Courses shall be filled in all India basis through Common Entrance Examination to be conducted by I.C.A.R., New Delhi (It includes 10% seats over and above the sanctioned intake capacity)
- However, the vacant seats after consideration of the waiting list of ICAR, New Delhi, shall be filled in by the respective University after issuing state level advertisement by adopting the existing rules and regulations being used for the admission process
- After deducting seats to be reserved for ICAR & OS quota, the -- First 50% seats will be kept open for all the students of the State (‘M’ quota) and -- After 50% seats of the admission capacity will be filled in from amongst the students who have passed the qualifying examination from the institution situated in the University area (‘U’ quota)

At the doctoral level, the college offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree specializing in the fields of Fisheries, Farm Technologies and Agricultural Studies to the research aspirant candidates. The maximum duration period for the Ph.D programs is three years. Admission to the Ph. D. programs are strictly on the basis of merit in the concerned subject in the Ph.D. Common Entrance Test (CET) of respective faculty for the current year conducted by Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB) and CGPA of the qualifying postgraduate degree examination.

I got this college through icar counselling and I don't know about this college at first but after joining I had pretty well experience. Admission process is not too hectic only you have to submit your documents and pay your semester fee and that's it

The eligibility of the course is to get above 50%ile in CET PCB and you have to enroll for cap round and cut-off is also not very high for this college. The aspect i didn't like was they were admitted students who was not even qualifying in entrance exam.

Cut off is very high. Admission through mht cet. It requires 90% or more to get admitted that is good thing that competition is more. Many times become difficult to find addmission procedure cause faculty members not provid information properly.

in our application process, we need to write an exam called MCAR (Maharashtra council of agriculture research exam). after the exam we have called for rounds A, B, and C this is how our application process will be, if you are not selected in the rounds we need to pay a donation.

We have an exam called the MCAER Maharashtra Council of agriculture education and research pg Common Entrance test. After the test, we go get admissions. I don't think any improvement but caste reservation should be removed.
