The century-old College of Agriculture, Pune, is one of the 1st 5 agriculture colleges founded in India. The college has a history, as old and as rich as the city, Pune: the land of Peshwas, itself. 

The college offered UG/PG courses in (Horticulture/Forestry/Agricultural Engineering/Food Technology/ Community Science /Agricultural Biotechnology/Animal Husbandry), 

PhD in metrology, and MBA in agriculture.

Admissions were taken through CET and merit list.

B. Sc.  Duration: 4 years
Eligibility: Must have passed (10+2) education system(12th std science) with 50% marks for general category and 40%marks for backwards category 
Specialization: Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Community Science 
B. Tech Duration: 4 years
Eligibility: Must have passed (10+2) education system(12th std science) with 50% marks for general category and 40%marks for backwards category 
Specialization: Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, Bio-technology
M. Sc.  Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Should have scored minimum 5.5 CGPA for General category and 5.0 for backward category, in respective/equivalent 4 years degree examination.
Specialization: Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, Agricultural Biotechnology, Home Science, Post Harvest Management 
M. Tech.  Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Should have scored minimum 5.5 CGPA for General category and 5.0 for backward category, in respective/equivalent 4 years degree examination.
Specialization: Food technology, Agricultural engineering 
MBA Duration: 2 years 
Eligibility: 4 years degree in agricultural universities
Specialization: Agri-Business Management 
Ph.D.  Duration: 3 years
Eligibility: Must have passed M. Sc. in Agricultural Meteorology from a recognized university

CAAS Pune Admissions 

The Admission process is solely based on the merit list prepared by the college. The merit list for UG is calculated by 70%of total marks in the respective group(PCM/PCB), and 30% total marks of CET/12th science and other weightage. The merit list for PG is decided through 70%of marks in CET by MAUEB and 30% of CGPA in 4 years graduation examination and weightage if any(sports/NCC etc). 

Candidates hail from outside of Maharashtra, are not eligible for MHT-CET exam. Hence marks of NEET/JEE/AIEEA-UG will be considered.

  • Candidates can send only one application form online. 
  • Fill the application form with personal, academic and communicational details. 
  • Submit the form with an application fee.

Ans. It has a long history from the British period of the late 19th century. Jyotiba Phule, the pioneer of Agriculture colleges in Maharashtra, laid its foundation in 1879. However, a separate college of Agriculture was established in Pune in the year 1908.

Ans. Yes. One can apply for a B Sc programme from outside the state. However, you should have appeared in national entrance examinations like NEET/JEE/AIEEA-UG, since MHT-CET will not be applicable for you.

College have enormous resources funded by the agricultural development trust and students should use those resources in productive manner. College is surrounded with lush green farms and here we have 110 acres of researcher center

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mainly BSc agriculture is related to farming and its related researches for improvement in yields and economic condition of farmer, research is related to development of new varities of crop, pesticides ,it is also related to livestock rearing and preparation of dairy products.
