It was closer to home and one of the best colleges under the Calicut University, infact it is the best college in Calicut University as it is always the winners in culturals and sports events, plus it has a great faculty
You can calculate the index marks for PG admissions at Calicut university by following the below-mentioned simple steps:
Score/Grade obtained in Degree Examination
If the admission is based on an entrance exam then the weightage is 50-50 ( 50% marks obtained in Degree Examinations + 50% marks obtained in the entrance exam.)
If you have completed your degree under CALICUT UNIVERSITY you get a bonus of 5.
If you have worked in the Illiteracy Eradication Programme for 1 year, you get a bonus of 5.
if you were an N.C.C cadet (75% Attendance)/ N.S.S. Volunteer (240 hours), you get a bonus of 5.
If you have an NCC A/B/C certificate you will get a bonus of 3/5/10 respectively.
if you have cleared the Compulsory Social Service Programme, you get a bonus of 10.
If you have needed more than 2 chances to clear your qualifying exam, you get a Minus 10.
These simple steps will help you calculate your index marks for PG admissions at Calicut University.
It is determined by the number of seats available at the college. Calicut University does not conduct exams properly, and your grades will not be corrected. This means that the student who studies the best in class and the student who did not study for the exam get nearly the same grade.
The university doesn't even properly correct the papers. It's also evident in newspaper articles about the majority of students failing a university exam. Your semester exams will be held on an irregular basis. That is, if you are in the third semester, you may write for the first semester.
Furthermore, if you fail at some point in the third semester and all of the other semesters succeed, it will take years for you to pass the exam because the supplementary exam is not given frequently.
At Calicut University, to be eligible to apply for a post-graduate course, one must have completed the undergraduate course and provide proof of completion in the form of a Degree Certificate. A Provisional Certificate would suffice as well.
If you are awaiting the results of the Supplementary exams, you will be unable to produce the Degree Certificate and thus will be ineligible to apply. This is based on the assumption that Supplementary Exams indicate that you did not pass a specific paper.
However, if the exams are Improvement Exams, the situation is different.
A minimum of 55% in your UG degree is required to get admission to Calicut University MA English. There is an entrance exam where 50% of your score in the Entrance Exam and 50% of your score in your UG are weighted in determining your rank-list position.
Admission is based on an Entrance Test and Marks for the BA degree, as opposed to other colleges where admission is based solely on your BA score. It will give you a better chance if you work hard enough on the text.
It is strongly advised that you pursue your MA at Calicut University's English Department. The faculty is excellent and approachable, and there is some leniency in your optional papers.
