For the first semester the Fees is Rs 3,16,000 in which around 50,000 is admission fees, Hostel and electricity fees is separate which is 53,000. Fees for next semesters is around 2,50,000 plus hostel fees 53,000. Scholarship is given on basis of two criteria- Merit and Merit cum need. To avail merit cum need scholarship your family income must lie under 15 lakh per annum. For merit only scholarship student must be in top 1% for 100% scholarship and top 2% for 50% scholarship.

Bad Grading - Bits has relative grading system and Goa campus is especially famous for Bad Grading therefore getting a high cgpa becomes increasingly difficult
hectic academic structure- academic structure every semester contains 7-8 courses and continuous evaluation makes course curriculum pretty hectic
Huge Fees is an increasingly growing problem here though management is taking some actions but still 30+ lakhs for a bachelors degree is pretty high

Fees for single degree student - 30+ lakhs over 4 years Fees for dual degree studenr - 35+ lakhs over 5 years Scholarships: These scholarships are given on the basis of cgpa. merit scholarship - top 3% of the batch gets 100% scholarship while next 3% gets 40% merit cum need (Income limit - 15 lpa as of 2024) - 3% gets 80%, 6% gets 40%, rest get 25%. Other then these there are also few minor scholarships like student aid financial assistance. Loans: Banks are present on campus which offer education loan for all course fees at interest rate of ~8.5%

Course curriculum is fine. Could have been better but considering that there's dual degree students too, the course looks pretty well structured. Academics is the same as it is In every college, if you wanna study. You can do pretty well. If you dont, them you'll get plenty of people like that too. But by the end of 4 years it prepares for industry level work sufficiently well also offering 2 compulsory internships during those 4 years. But the college lacks in exceptional faculties.

IIIT Allahabad has a great culture for programming, which can help you become a serious developer. The infrastructure is good, the campus is green, and the architecture is impressive, with the added benefit of being centrally air-conditioned.

On the downside, the city life in Allahabad is not great, especially if you come from a metro city. You may experience a cultural shock. The research environment is not exceptional, and there are only a handful of students aspiring to pursue higher education. You will find yourself in a batch of more than 200 students, in which you have to create your own identity. The weather is terrible, with extremely hot summers and cold winters (although some people may like the winters). The sports infrastructure is not the most amazing one.

Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses.

You generally have to compete with the top students on the Campus. Also, the EEE course material is not everyone's cup of tea.
The EEE placements are quite good, though not for everyone. There are more high pointers in EEE than in any other branch. Thus good companies prefer to hire from among those.
Placements might be better for CS at Goa, though in some other respects you might sell yourself short with this choice.

CSE at IIIT Allahabad wins hands down when the choice is between IIIT-A and BITS Goa. Both institutes have the same coursework for CSE, but IIIT-A offers it for one-third the fee of BITS Goa. Most of the students opt for BITS just for the brand name. The faculty at the BITS campus is not as good as that of IIIT Allahabad as it is funded by MHRD while BITS is a private institute.

IIIT-A is popular for its coding culture. IT is one of the flagship courses offered there and placement records are at their best. Placement in the software domain is any day better at IIITs when compared to BITS.

The preference is always given to BITS Goa as it belongs to the most reputed family of BITS institute. One of my friends has studied there and he loves the campus from all aspects.

Scope

CSE has more job opportunities in the market as compared to other branches of engineering.
If you even go for a core organization in the chemical field; the highest package is not more than 6 LPA.
In the case of CSE, if you are into coding a good package can be cracked.
The highest package is close to 1.40 crore in BITS Goa. The average also stands at a decent place.
The prominent recruiters are - ADM Argo, Adobe, Bajaj Auto, Capgemini, CGI, Cisco, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Razor Pay, Reliance Jio, Freshworks and Goldman Sachs.

Faculty

The computer science faculty cannot be compared with chemical engineering.
CS faculty is amazing having well-equipped knowledge in the field to deal with real competition. They all are efficient in imparting real practical skill set to their students in a proper manner.

Goa is a place people look out for holidays, and having a college in Goa makes it even more fascinating and attractive.
Certain limitations are also imposed on students. You cannot leave the campus before 5 PM and you should return back by 11 PM.

BITS Goa makes it a better option on all fronts whether its faculty, campus, or scope. Having this outlook will help you get to a good institute. The stream can be a point of interest but other factors also matter.

If finances are an issue, then BITS Goa isn’t the right place to go unless you come under the EWS category (total family income less than 11 LPA).

BITS Goa is one of the most expensive engineering colleges in India. A B.E degree can end up costing about 19 to 20 lakhs for 4 years and an M.Sc degree about 19 lakhs. If you are from general category, BITS Goa will dent your wallet for the next few years.

Besides being one of the best engineering NITs in the country, the fees for NIT Calicut are much, much lighter around 5.5 lakhs for 4 years. Getting a Circuit branch is no easy task as the cutoffs are pretty high. If you’re getting ECE here, and money is an issue, then this is the place to go.

Although, if you’re under the EWS section, BITS Goa will offer scholarships based on your performance in the first year. If you’re able to obtain a CGPA of 8.5+, then a scholarship of 80% is awarded. For a CGPA of 7.5, a scholarship of 40% is awarded, and so on.
