I was genuinely interested in Computer science, Teaching methods are fine as of now. Exams are taken frequently with different paper patterns like quiz, midsem and Comprehensive exams. There are different weightage of each exams testing out our knowledge.

This curriculum has the last 2 years of my study in RMIT Melbourne , that played a manjor role in me choosing this course. Curriculum prepares you vrry well for the real world , industry's need and also develops ur personality in the process

I like python and Java. So chose cse. The curriculum is very adaptable to current scenarios. The thing they could improve is taking the things a tad slower cuz it takes some students more time to learn stuff. The frequency is normal compared to govt colleges

Course curriculum meets the needs of bachelors degree, a few courses are outdated but are soon to be removed. speaking of relevance you won't learn a skill just by taking a course on it efforts from your side are also needed. If one really needs to improve their skills working on study project with a professor can greatly help
This course is the best course and the package at the end is maximum in computer science. The faculty of bits is really helpful. The Approx ratio will be around 1:20. Bits is very famous for its alumni which are no less than a really helpful faculty. The faculty is qualified with the best degrees from the best institutes. The teaching method in bits is always of the best methods. Gmeets, classroom, quanta and Moodle, all are the places where you will get all the material required for the best teaching methods and study methods as well. Terms exams were always on time. Labs, tutorials, Midsems, quizzes and end sem exams were all on time. Which comes at a gap of 4 months. The difficulty level is medium, it's just that the students don't study. If you study you can score pretty good.
I took this course as I had a better understanding of this course The college has faculty to student ratio of 1:6 The faculties are double Ph.D. and have great experience in their fields Exams are not difficult to score
1)- My course is Computer Science. I choose this course beacuse I am very interested in this field and I wanted to grab opportunities in this field. 2)- The faculty of CS in this college is very good. The faculty : student ratio is about 1:50. 3)- Most of the faculty members are IIT professors and passout and many have done their masters from top foreign universities. The teaching method is very good and is of high quality. 4)- The term exams are held as Midsem which occurs at 2 months after beginning of the sem and Comprehensive Exams are held at the end of the sem. Between this many quizes and assignments are also held. These exams are difficult and if a student does not study for these exams, he/she would not be able to score well.
The course is well structured and faculty is very decent. Bits has one of the most prominent faculties in whole country. The main reason to choose the college is of course the name tag and the opportunities that the college provides. Every department has more than 20 faculties and almost all are available at all times and are quite friendly. Everyone has P.hD. in their respective fields. The level of education is high and exams are competitive as almost most of the things are based on cgpa in bits.
I choose this course because i wanted to build career in computer science and built software products. 1:50 ratio of faculty to students (based on the avg students enrolled in one class) Faculty are highly knowledgeable and keep shifting internally from all 3 campus under the university. They have rich experience in teaching and always there to support students for any help in their career. Faculty uses online CRM for managing courses and provide well detailed & structured classes. Exams were thrice in each semester. Each year had two semesters. The exams were into three parts T1, T2 & Comprehensive examination. Exams were quite difficult to crack & highly competitive because it was cumulative based. You're required to attend classes with focus to be at par with other students.
Course curriculum is fine. Could have been better but considering that there's dual degree students too, the course looks pretty well structured. Academics is the same as it is In every college, if you wanna study. You can do pretty well. If you dont, them you'll get plenty of people like that too. But by the end of 4 years it prepares for industry level work sufficiently well also offering 2 compulsory internships during those 4 years. But the college lacks in exceptional faculties.
The IT degree at IIIT Allahabad is considered one of the best in India, and it is aligned with the CSE curriculum from the best IITs and NITs in India. The professors are a mixed bag, with some highly qualified, doing good research, and teaching well, while some may be uninteresting. However, with some self-motivation, the academic landscape is quite good.
IIIT Allahabad has a great culture for programming, which can help you become a serious developer. The infrastructure is good, the campus is green, and the architecture is impressive, with the added benefit of being centrally air-conditioned.
On the downside, the city life in Allahabad is not great, especially if you come from a metro city. You may experience a cultural shock. The research environment is not exceptional, and there are only a handful of students aspiring to pursue higher education. You will find yourself in a batch of more than 200 students, in which you have to create your own identity. The weather is terrible, with extremely hot summers and cold winters (although some people may like the winters). The sports infrastructure is not the most amazing one.
In summary, here's the verdict:
According to the placement reports of BITS Goa, the average annual package for the B.E. Computer Science and M.Sc. Computer Science students was around 13-15 lakhs per annum for the year 2021. You can expect a huge list of companies to come to your campus, including top names such as Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Apple, and Google.
It's worth noting that salary should not be the only factor considered when evaluating job opportunities; factors like work-life balance, company culture, and growth potential can be equally important.
BITS Hyderabad CS is a better option. Although BITS Goa is older, the CS program on the Hyderabad campus went through rapid growth in a very short time. The reason can be ascribed to the location advantage. Hyderabad is a cybercity, so it's easier for students to get projects, internships, and placement opportunities.
The 2022 statistics of BITS Hyderabad placements show the average CTC for CS to be around INR 22 LPA. The highest CTC offered for CS, this year was INR 43 LPA. MNCs like Apple, Google, Amazon, Adobe, etc. visit the placement drive of BITS Hyderabad regularly.
Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses.
Parameters&n | BITS Goa | BITS Pilani |
Tuition Fee | 3.99 lakhs | 4.45 lakhs |
Placement Average | 94% | 95% |
Average CTC | INR 5 LPA | INR 18.05 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 1.40 Cr | INR 45 LPA |
So, if you want an easy life, better go for CS in Goa. Otherwise, choose EEE at Pilani.
According to some of my friends studying at BITS Goa, it is undeniably a very established institute to pursue Computer Science (CS). One of the main reasons is the faculty BITS Goa essentially involves. Under their supervision, you will be part of handling several projects in your course of study.
However, at times, it might get quite difficult securing certain individual projects under the guidance of professors due to a huge amount of competition.
Here is the latest placement report of BITS Goa,
Highest Salary Package | INR 25 LPA |
Average Salary Package | INR 12-16 LPA |
Top Recruiting Companies | BNY Mellon, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates, Microsoft, Ebay, Paypal, Tesco, KPMG, etc. |
On the flip side, you will indisputably acquire a good set of experience from both PS 1 and PS 2. The placement drive is usually very robust, since the institute is often visited by various top IT firms. However, since the competition is quite high, it might get slightly difficult. Although, it will be worth it nonetheless.
Prior to mentioning anything, it depends upon what your preference is. However, if you relatively require a faster or simply an immediate placement following the course, then opting for BITS Pilani, Goa (CSE) can be a superior choice.
Categories | Mechanical at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus | CS at BITS Pilani Goa Campus |
Course Fee | 19.19 lakh | 19.19 lakh |
Highest CTC | 21 LPA | 29 LPA |
Average CTC | 11 LPA | 12-15 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Bosch, Mercedes, nVidia, Goldman Sachs, etc. | Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, etc. |
He preferred pursuing CSE at BITS Pilani, Goa over EEE at BITS Pilani, main campus. Now comparing your choices, you should undeniably plan to enlist at the Goa campus.
CSE at IIIT Allahabad wins hands down when the choice is between IIIT-A and BITS Goa. Both institutes have the same coursework for CSE, but IIIT-A offers it for one-third the fee of BITS Goa. Most of the students opt for BITS just for the brand name. The faculty at the BITS campus is not as good as that of IIIT Allahabad as it is funded by MHRD while BITS is a private institute.
IIIT-A is popular for its coding culture. IT is one of the flagship courses offered there and placement records are at their best. Placement in the software domain is any day better at IIITs when compared to BITS.
The following table shows a brief overview of the institutes:

IIIT Allahabad is the best choice among the two with good placement records, perfect campus, amazing faculties, and facilities. Being a government-affiliated institute has its own merits when compared to BITS Pilani Goa.
BITS Goa CSE is a better option than NIT Allahabad. It has an excellent infrastructure and offers better placement opportunities. Recent highlights of BITS Goa placement show the average package to be around INR 15-16 LPA. Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Adobe, etc. recruit from the campus.
The preference is always given to BITS Goa as it belongs to the most reputed family of BITS institute. One of my friends has studied there and he loves the campus from all aspects.
The major reasons as to why BITS Goa is to be preferred are:
Scope
Faculty
Campus
BITS Goa makes it a better option on all fronts whether its faculty, campus, or scope. Having this outlook will help you get to a good institute. The stream can be a point of interest but other factors also matter.
If finances are an issue, then BITS Goa isn’t the right place to go unless you come under the EWS category (total family income less than 11 LPA).
BITS Goa is one of the most expensive engineering colleges in India. A B.E degree can end up costing about 19 to 20 lakhs for 4 years and an M.Sc degree about 19 lakhs. If you are from general category, BITS Goa will dent your wallet for the next few years.
Besides being one of the best engineering NITs in the country, the fees for NIT Calicut are much, much lighter around 5.5 lakhs for 4 years. Getting a Circuit branch is no easy task as the cutoffs are pretty high. If you’re getting ECE here, and money is an issue, then this is the place to go.
Although, if you’re under the EWS section, BITS Goa will offer scholarships based on your performance in the first year. If you’re able to obtain a CGPA of 8.5+, then a scholarship of 80% is awarded. For a CGPA of 7.5, a scholarship of 40% is awarded, and so on.
