- The teaching faculty is so amazing and supportive, no matter how many doubts I have, useful or silly, they are always there to help, whether in class or outside. It is very easy to contact them over email, and they respond within one or two days.,
- The culture is very open where teachers see everyone as equals and are not authoritative like it is in India. Every student has a choice to participate whether it is lectures or activities or anything.,
- All and I mean all information from lectures or extra coursework is available to us whether we attend or miss the lectures. There is a site used here called Blackboard where students can keep track of assignments, exams, dissertations, coursework, materials marks and feedback.,
- We get feedback for literally everything which is amazing because then we know how to improve our work.,
- There are so so many clubs and societies to join, which helped me to meet different people, improve my network and make more friends. DRAWBACK— joining any society here is paid, for membership, you have to pay a small fee of £5 for a year.,
- There are so so many events organised by the university to choose from, for example, I attended a few of them which included pottery painting and wine, making your own LUSH (bath bombs), jewellery making, etc. A small fee is required to participate.,

Another example, on Halloween, the school of management organised a free Halloween theme stall with pretzels, marshmallows, crisps, a chocolate fountain, and loads of toppings to choose from.,
- There are so many workshops to attend for networking, jobs and cv, uk Job market, for dissertation, academic writing, statistics and so much more. They are free for the students, you just have to register.,
- The university also organises day trip to different tourist attractions in the city as well as to other cities every Saturday and Sunday. For example, I have been to York and Manchester through this and attended the Harry Potter museum, all organised by the uni. — You have to PAY to take part.,
- The uni also organises a lot of career fairs for placements, volunteer roles, and graduate roles, where companies come in and talk about their work. Great way to build a network and pitch yourself as a candidate and overall learn about the job market.,
- The uni website is so helpful, literally everything a student needs is available there, from tech support to library support, dissertation handbook, extra materials, activities, parties, accommodations, career support, everything is available.,

- FOR UNI ACCOMMODATIONS— those living in uni accom have special events organised just for them which is totally free of cost. For example, I attended yoga sessions, book readings, and a petting zoo.
Overview:
I signed up for Rostrum Education which is an agency that helps student choose universities, applications, SOPs and overall assistance. They helped me find the best uni for my course and I am incredibly satisfied. I had great modules on my course, exactly what I was looking for. I had a great experience in my uni, with my teachers, friends, and flatmates. I immediately felt at home here. Overall people are very nice and helpful and it was a new experience for me so I was excited and prepared for it beforehand, I had done a lot of research before moving here. I’ve been on trips, I’ve explored my city, I have participated in various activities and workshops, I have gained a lot of skills, I have developed a really good CV, and I have earned money as well.
- Dislikes:
- The modules were not properly balanced for both the semester, it was inconsistently structured.,
- In the lectures, there were only one way of teaching and that is through presentation, although lab activities were there but not at an extent.,
- The timings and duration of the lectures of modules should have been increased.,
- There were no live doubt-solving sessions during the lectures.,
- The career service can potentially be increased.,
- No personalised journey or method for students w.r.t their course to enrol in the group session or societies.
Overview:
I chose this university because of multiple factors: - The QS ranking of the University of Sheffield was among the top 20 in Europe in 2021 and the ranking has gone up since. - It has the best student union all over the UK and it is still ranked as the best to this date. - Given the inflation rate and recession in the US, Europe is considered to be the next tech giant target in terms of IT infrastructure and software technical advancement in the employability domain as the big tech giants are building up their main headquarters in Ireland and the UK region. - The University of Sheffield's reputation in the overall European region is well placed and alumni of the university are working all over in big companies as well as small start-ups across the globe, hence alumni network is very strong at the University of Sheffield.
